Super Mecha Champions

 I think I have finally found the game that could have been the perfect substitute for Final Gear and can't believe that this one eluded my radar for so long! But given Netease's lousy track record in marketing their products, It is no surprise that Super Mecha Champions haven't become a mainstream success despite the inherent quality that this game possess. Seriously Mihoyo could just lend their marketing talent to promote this game instead of spamming ads for their games like no tomorrow that people are fed up seeing by this time. 

 Super Mecha Champions or 机动都市 which literally mean Mecha City is one of those many Battle Royale game that popped up since 2019 after the PUBG Craze in which the latter is still one of the most popular game out there. What separate Super Mecha Champions apart from its peers is that this one got Giant Robots as part of the integral gameplay and it is a dream come true for mecha fans actually. 

  I have been trying Super Mecha Champions for a week by now and still finding out what this game have to offer with Iori and Skylark being my main currently. Since I am not really into Battle Royale myself, I don't think the gameplay is the strongest selling point of SMC, but in terms of Mecha assets especially the 3D department this one is easily the best one on Mobile platform. Seriously the mecha selections are quite impressive not to mention the effects for the premium skin. Netease just prove themselves the best one when it comes to creating assets for their games but just like Onmyoji Arena, they really need to put more effort on advertising their games. Because for one of the biggest players in China's Video Game industry their effort in this particular department are very lacking on overseas market.

 Compared to Onmyoji Arena, I find that Super Mecha Champions premium option is slightly more expensive especially their Golden Daruma equivalent. Perhaps this is probably due to smaller playerbase that SMC had considering Mecha is still very niche market no matter how good the game is. Regardless as an avid Onmyoji Arena player which I returned playing recently, I am willing to support a good mecha game which I believe SMC had the potential to be one. But this one really depends on Netease to manage their portfolio properly. Seriously if Netease pull their weights properly, Super Mecha Champions will be the best game to make use Collab material like Evangelion, even better than Honkai, PUBG or Tower of Fantasy ever did. So I have high expectation with this Game and hopefully the investment will pay off.
