Puchiritsu Fate/Grand Order Overview

Built these kits a while ago for Event Display and this Bandai's new lineup doesn't disappoint! Fate/Grand Order is very big series in Japan and certainly Bandai would love more slice of that Pie. Bandai had released plenty of FGO products through Tamashii Nation, Megahouse and Banpresto but they definitely would love to incorporate the series into their Model Kit products to rack up more sales quantity.

As a result, Bandai decided to release new Super Deformed model kits called Puchiritsu with 1400 Yen Price tag for FGO series as their Figure-Rise lineup are certainly not up to quality for Bishoujo characters yet. This is a good move by Bandai as they are able to lower the price to make the lineup appealing for people to get invested with these model kits. If they could commit this lineup properly, Bandai could take away a sizable customer base from Goodsmile which has been the main source of Fate-Related merchandise for a long time.

I got to build all of the initial product lineup and i would say this one had very good potential as it provides an avenue for people to get affordable FGO Collectibles or Catalysts. Probably Puchiritsu sculpt is derived from the Short-lived Petit-Rise lineup which featured Love Live and Girls and Panzer series. Out of the box it is nowhere as good as GSC Product but the sculpt is good enough for a mass produced product and it will be on decent FGO collectible with a proper paint Job.  Bandai had SD figure for FGO series previously with Megahouse Desktop Army lineup, but Puchiritsu proportion is more similar to Banpresto QPosket. Since it only cost 1400 Yen, there is not much articulation for the lower body of the model kit so treat it like slightly posable figure. At very least there will be another 3 of FGO Puchiritsu coming up which OG Saber would likely be a part of it. This lineup would thrive as long as Bandai could capitalize the momentum of FGO series.

  1. A more affordable prize range compared to Nendoroid. Personally, I find Nendoroid overpriced and I would rather get Figma for articulations and proportionality. Unless, it’s the liking for adorable figure or there is no other figure of the character besides Nendoroid having it. Good try Bandai but why not let Banpresto do it!

    1. Puchiritsu is one of the potential lineup from Bandai that could seriously Nendoroid over the long run with its price tag combined with Bandai's production capacity.
