Sakura Wars Mechatalk: Sakura Taisen 2: Kanna Kirishima Route

 2nd Sakura Taisen 2 Heroine Mechatalk is here as I am trying my best to consistently wrap up my business before moving onto Sakura Taisen 4. After Sumire, I will be doing Kanna Kirishima! While Kanna might be one of the least popular Heroine from Ogami Kagekidan, she still deserve to belong to this legendary group. But arguably among whole Sakura Taisen casts, Kanna VA is still overall the most successful one as she is one of the Legendary VA who managed to attain mainstream success.

 Kanna Kirishima is one of the original 6 Teikoku Kagekidan members who has black belt in Okinawan Karate, highly proficient in Close combat. Among her fellow members, Kanna is no doubt the physically fittest and strongest even surpassing Ogami in this department and probably can fight Kouma without even her Koubu. But regardless, Ogami still prove his worth when Kanna needs a sparring partner in martial arts.

In terms of personality, Kanna might not be the smartest among Teikoku Kagekidan members but with her down to earth personality, she is definitely one of the more level headed one and more than easily prove her worth in the team. When piloting her Koubu, Kanna easily the hardest hitter in Teikoku Kagekidan literally deleting enemies left and right within her strike range which even the boss enemy is not safe especially if her Bond with Ogami is very high.

 In Sakura Taisen 2, Kanna still play supportive role most of the time and her only major role outside her route is being Ogami wingman in crashing Sumire's engagement talks. Given Kanna's proficiency in close combat, she easily overpower any bodyguards that Kanzaki estate are thrown at her and Teikoku Kagekidan.

 Kanna is one of the few Character that I still had her Miracle Bell sequence event and this is one of the few moment that Kanna proves herself as a worthy member of Teikoku Kagekidan

 Should the player pick Kanna as the main heroine, after the Miracle Bell performance wrapped up Ogami will travel along with Kanna to her home in Okinawa. In this opportunity Ogami will pay a visit to Kanna's father's grave who played a role in mentoring Kanna as an accomplished martial artist. During this trip, apart from still missing her parents dearly, Ogami will learn Kanna's heartfelt feeling toward him which is actually rather dramatic for her archetype.

 Right until Sakura Taisen 4, Kanna probably is the most overlooked heroine among Ogami Kagekidan cast but the VA and Sakura Taisen production team still try their best to make this character workable as the romance option for Ogami. Kanna might not be the most feminine among Ogami's romance options but certainly she will prove her worth in maternal charm with her heart of gold. I do admit Kanna is very easily overlooked given that she doesn't even have much role to play in Sakura Taisen 2 and I do still feel rather bad in skipping her Collab unit in Final Gear. However her route is definitely still worth visiting if you wish to do some completionist route.
