SRW V 2nd run Complete + Platinum Trophy

Could have done this faster but finally beat the 2nd run for SRW V and getting the Platinum Trophy! settling my business for this game. Second Run for SRW is usually a easier due to the newgame+ Bonus but the one that SRW V bestows is too generous which made the whole run to be way much a breeze.

For SRW V 2nd run i choose the Male Protagonist, Murakumo Soji as the main character, since i finished my first run with Chitose. Coincidentally Soji shared the same Birthday as mine which is why i was more motivated using him over Chitose making him invincible killing machine who is untouchable during most of the game and ends up as the top scoring Ace. Soji's interaction with Nine is more amusing compared to Chitose in my opinion because they are doing stupid couple antics instead of being adorable little sister.

I used Granvang for the Original upgrade this time and just like VangNex, it is rather disappointing upgrade design because i am expecting more from Kurogane no Linebarrel mecha designer.

SRW V is overall quite weak when it comes to story department since it doesn't utilise the potential of the roster to its full potential. Nevertheless the UC Gundam series surprisingly had the best synergy because it manage to unify the story of all main Universal Century Gundam Protagonists from the first series until Crossbone era in satisfying way. Unicorn Gundam might be Bandai's posterboy but SRW V managed to put the series where it appropriately belongs.

SRW V Second Run do carryover the Pilot Killcounts from the first playthrough, Soji having 0 Killcount managed to rack up kills and secure himself in the 1st Position. Whereas Maito and Akito still secured their previous Top positions and Captain Okita slightly fell behind as i kept OP Yamato behind the lines. For the Second Playthrough i used mostly UC Gundams, FMP and Dynamic Pro units which i neglect in the first run. As a general of rules any Main Protagonist units will curbstomp the enemies as long as proper investment are given. Sousuke Sagara, Ryoma, and Amuro particularly racks up plenty of kills with their sheer firepower.

The Most Hard Hitting unit in SRW is no doubt Yamato or Mazinger Z but the former is just way too overpowered! I managed to take the second final route and the Final Boss come in clones this time which you can actually kill them all alone with Yamato only with the Wave Motion Cannon that can take down 10 of those units in single MAP Attack.

Clearing my SRW V 2nd run also complete my Trophy collection for this game, the Platinum Trophy requirement are not that difficult and not as Grindy as Gundam Genesis provided you complete the game in two playthrough at least which is quite easy if you play plenty of SRW. With this i have settled my score with SRW V and ready to move on to another SRW whether it be SRW T or SRW K.

  1. The Super Robot like Mazinger always hit hard. I remember using Macross Valkyrie in previous series and got killed like fly. Lolz.

    1. Mazinger series have been hard hitter especially when they have Mazinkaiser show up since they are the long inhabitants of SRW series. But this time the Mazinger Zero are quite crazy too.
