The Mysterious Red Knight of Arst made its appearance!
Something that i grabbed from Tamashii Nation as I tried to find a noteworthy collectible for Panzer World Galient. My choice at the time was either Galient Minipla or RoDa Tetsukyojin and being the cooler version of Galient, thus Tetsukyojin was the obvious pick.
Tetsukyojin a version of Galient that made appearance in the series OVA called Crest of Iron. It doesn't show much gimmick compared to its regular counterpart but in exchange it is ridiculously overpowered for its brief presence. In the OVA which barely have any plot, Tetsukyojin started to show up when the main character's older prince brother being possessed, commiting some patricide along the way and then activated the Evil Snake Panzer. Tetsukyojin then somehow took possession of main character to be its pilot and proceed to destroy everything in its path, effortlessly destroy Snake Panzer and then only to disappear afterward removing any traces of Panzers along.
Robot Damashii Tetsukyojin apparently is not the definitive version despite being the latest product of this amazing yet underused Mecha Design. I saw some Diecast version of Tetsukyojin from another collector made by Wave and that one still reigns supreme. Unsurprisingly Tetsukyojin design is handled by Yutaka Izubuchi which showcase his talent for Fantasy themed mecha, no doubt Izubuchi deserve his reputation as legendary mecha designer.
Tetsukyojin comes with a Great Sword and Large Shield as its armaments which is rather strange combinations but in the OVA it only wielded the Greatsword which can be used to channel lightning to some extent. Tetsukyojin would have made an amazing SRW material as an overpowered secret unit and i wonder why it was not included in SRW BX despite Galient made debut on that one.
Bandai's track record for their Toy's playability are usually top notch but Tetsukyojin's articulation is rather lacking mainly due to the bulky armor design that limits the movement. Thus my choice for poses are rather limited for this Red Knight.
Since Galient series used plenty of Desert backgrounds i used my desert terrain backdrop for some of the Tetsukyojin shots. However since these shots were taken 6 months ago, I feel the lighting setting rather unsatisfactory. Maybe i will consider doing another retake if i can think of some good poses for Tetsukyojin.
I already forgot which one i got first, but definitely when one of the RoDa came into my possession i spare no effort to find the other half. On the surface Sirbine and Tetsukyojin may not appear to have significant tie apart from being Fantasy themed mechas but their history are deeply intertwined. Dunbine and Galient was created by two Prominent Anime Directors of Sunrise at its time, Yoshiyuki Tomino and Ryosuke Takahashi who are important mecha pioneer and were at their peak in 80s. By a strange turn of fate, both Lead mecha design of the OVA version of their respective work are handled by Izubuchi which essentialy serve as the bridge for both figure's works. I dream someday SRW would feature Dunbine and Galient together in a game so we could see Tetsukyojin and Sirbine fight side to side.

I am glad that Bandai would provide an opportunity for this legacy of Sunrise 80s mecha series to make its mark once more in the Toys landscape. But this is no doubt a risky move for Bandai as Galient series is mostly forgotten save for the faithful followers who are likely in their middle ages by now. In any case Tetsukyojin is a good addition for your collection if you like Fantasy themed mecha and get them while they are still in reasonable price.
