The Princess Knight sets upon her first journey!
When Pop Up Parade lineup introduced by GSC two years ago, I soon wished for FGO series to join this affordable quality lineup which was answered with Saber Lily entry last year. While she is not the character that i desire to get the figure, i still bought one as an investment, hoping that Goodsmile will continue making more FGO figures for the lineup. However such hope seems to be a pipe dream at the current condition, as that kind of move by GSC will conflict many interests considering FGO remain one of the strongest IP for Premium PVC figure and not to mention Aniplex recent move with their Conofig which appear to put such attempt by GSC in check. Nevertheless POP Up Parade Saber Lily is a worthy purchase as expected from the rising star lineup of GSC in the present.
Probably appeared early Type Moon Ace, Saber Lily made a major appearance in Fate Fighting Game called Fate/Unlimited Codes as an alternate costume for Saber which received great reception as the design gives a fresh new look for the usually stoic Eternal Heroine, complete with extra feminine charm. Eventually Saber Lily character design proves to be popular enough that the Distant Avalon version of her PVC Figure was a financial success for GSC to the extent it received multiple reruns which doesn't happen too often for PVC Figures. Eventually as Fate/Grand Order debuted, Saber Lily redesigned to be younger version of Artoria who is still under tutelage by Merlin , wielding Sword of Selection Caliburn as her Noble Phantasm. Compared to Saber Artoria, Saber Lily personality are more cheerful and naive at times. However at the same time Saber Lily holds many possibility for her with the current state of FGO makes her Eevee equivalent of the series.
In terms of Gameplay, Saber Lily is a Welfare SR Saber Class servant which was available at FGO Early Campaign, then Saber Wars event and finally added into FP Roll Pool in FGO JP. Performance-Wise Saber Lily is easily one of the Worst SR servant due to her weak stats comparable to 3* Servants but no doubt the easiest obtainable Saber Face out there.
The Pop Up Parade version of Saber Lily is based on her 2nd Ascension Form which exudes her feminine charm the most of all Saber Lily Ascensions. While the sculpt quality won't surpass Premium PVC level, it is definitely a level above the typical FGO Prize Figures
Some comparison shot with Figma Saber Lily, considering the Pop Up Parade is only 1/9 Scale, the size difference gap is not too significant. At some point i definitely should make some review for Figma Saber Lily which was long due already.
I think my lighting setting for this review session is abit too much which should be fixed on next review which use the same background setting but overall i still managed to achieve most of my intended result. Overall Pop Up Parade is a good purchase for FGO Collectible if you want to step up from Prize Figure without spending too much. Despite the constraints that the lineup had, i still wish for another FGO Pop Up Parade. At any rate i should be making reviews for another FGO Prize Figure quite soon.
