Arknights Dungeon Meshi Collab Afterthoughts

It has been about three weeks since Arknights collab event wrapped up with a bang! Given Hypergryph did a well-done job for the collab event just like previous ones like Monster Hunter and Rainbow Six, I feel that this Dungeon Meshi deserves a post-event review article.

Despite Arknights gameplay is not exactly as fresh as it used to be, given the same formula has been running more than 5 years, Dungeon Meshi is still an overall fun and compact experience. Thus, as a Dungeon Meshi Fanboy who is quite satisfied with the Collab adaptation, I feel that I should contribute a part in preserving the better part of Dungeon Meshi collab event.

Arknights Dungeon Meshi collab event features a storyline of What-If scenario for Laios party’s if they somehow ended up transported into Terra. Staying true to the original source material, Laios party obviously set forth on a Culinary adventure with selections of creatures from Terra ending up on the Dinner plate. In terms of story formula. Arknights Dungeon Meshi collab pretty much replicates the storyline of the manga using Terra as the setting with each members of Laios party served their roles as usual with Marcille being the vocal one being against eating monsters related cooking while Laios and Senshi are unhinged as usual and Chilchuck being the skeptic who is on standby to clean the mess.

Ceobe, the hungry Perro operator perfectly serve as the Arknights representative for the collab event and having the Boss stage with the objective of feeding the Cerberus incarnation of Ceobe is quite an interesting change.

Arknights Dungeon Meshi collab showcase what kind of shenanigans that will happen to Laios party if they use their mindset from original world onto the World of Arknights that they got transported into.Terra being quite a hostile world setting harboring many threats that are wanting to end the world certainly have many creatures that are questionable to be put on the dinner table. Yet Laios party even dare to touch Collapsals and Seaborn which obviously didn’t end particularly well for them but they still somehow survived the encounter and continue to sample the delicacies that Terra have to offer.

Personally, the best part of the Dungeon Meshi collab event on Arknights is Senshi’s cooking using Terra’s ingredients including the questionable ones like the Seaborn and Collapsal. Even the Sargon High Priest is not even safe from Laios Party dining menu. I think compared to other Gacha game, Arknights did quite an elaborate job on the cooking which are quite hard to surpass given storytelling and immersion are some of the strong points from this series. I am quite sure that Arknights writer team still have plenty of ideas for the next menu for Laios party should Hypergryph consider Part 2 collab for Dungeon Meshi.

Being the most generous Gacha game out there, I obviously managed to obtain all of the Dungeon Meshi collab operators with relative ease. In terms of collab event, Monster Hunter is still the overall best one when it comes to the obtainable operators so it is rather difficult for even Dungeon Meshi to top it. However, Dungeon Meshi still could use another collab continuation after the anime second cour wrapped up. Because there are several characters that could make it as Operators like Falyn and a 6* version of Laios.
