About more than one month since I finished my 2nd Abyss Clear and now I managed to get the True Ending of 2nd Abyss! If it was not for the buggy Cursed Wheel of 2nd Abyss, Perhaps this endeavour would have been done in a week or two. Because the True Ending requirement for 2nd Abyss is actually quite simple and less convoluted compared to the First Abyss. In any case, the efforts to reach 2nd Abyss True Ending is still worth it and you get to save another Waifu in this Dark Fantasy.
This Article will feature general guideline to reach Grand Legion Abyss True Ending as well as the overall storyline for the second abyss.
The Conditions for 2nd Abyss True Ending is actually very straightforward as it pretty much only have 2 Key Requirements. But firstly you have to save the Quest target character on 2nd Arena Match which remained to be Egolion in my playthrough due to game bug. These 2 requirements are:
1. Read all of the 7 Mermaid Statue hidden messages spread all over first 5 Levels of 2nd Abyss with the Merfolk Lexicon to unlock new interaction with Melgina on 4th level. Better do it before you Curse Wheel to the loop back into the beginning of 2nd Abyss
2. Complete Melgina's Rustproof Knife Quest which will require you to find Titanium Orbs on First Abyss Goblin Den. Slightly annoying quest if you are helping Gessi to get one as well.
Gessi's additional quest is actually not mandatory considering you have to beat him in Arena in Submerged condition which is very hard fight for Level 40+ players without specific build and you don't really actually need his assistance for the 2nd Abyss True Ending. So feel free to rig the fight and slay this annoying Sahagin who asked too much just for being unreliable reinforcement.
Overall Grand Legion Abyss 2nd Run is relatively the same with my first one as the Dungeon Crawling element is not the main focus of this abyss. Instead, the 5-Stage Arena Fight becomes the main highlight as the players get to face all sorts of Enemies depending on which faction you take the request. Since my 2nd run bugged into Egolion, the only difference is in the 2nd Arena Fight which I fought Bonnie and she is even easier than Clyde's fight. Also you don't really have to work on the Sidequests to nullify enemy's cheat ability save for Gessi's water stage.
If you wish not to get Spoilered for your Wizardry Daphne 2nd Abyss Run, do not go past this point until you finish your run because tons of Spoilers for Grand Legion Abyss are ahead.
The main star of Wizardry Daphne is obviously Melgina and in the 2nd run, she behaves quite friendly to the player if you complete her side quest and do show her charming side. Once you got the Merfolk Lexicon, you will get reveal the true story behind the Port Town ended up as Abyss dungeon where Melgina served as the damsel in distress.
Melgina is actually a merfolk princess and had a misfortune being kidnapped by a Pirate due to her beauty. Over past hundred years, Melgina's merfolk kin tried to rescue her but always ended up in failure with their corpses piling up at the hands of the Pirate. In order to prevent greater conflict erupt between Human and Merfolk due to Melgina's kidnapping, the Sea God cast Amnesia spell at the Port Town Grand Legion until somebody strong enough to rescure Melgina and break the curse.
Maybe it is due to having higher level Party but overall Octonarus fight does not differ much compared to Abyss Melgina. As always, Full Earth Weapons and stocking up Potions of Extra Healing is the key here, Earth Scrolls are not that necessary if your Yekaterina is strong enough. Standard party works out fine and I don't even really need to upgrade my gear beyond +10 for this fight. If you finish Melgina rustproof knife quest, she will only resurrect once and then you proceed to give Octonarus his deserved beatdown. Just go all out on Melgina so that you can quickly focus on Octonarus and I feel that she is somewhat weaker compared to her Non True Ending fight.
In terms of Difficulty, Octonarus could deal row damage by his ship cannon barrage but Masolotu spell will be handy for this one. The most dangerous thing that Octonarus could deal is his DoT Curse spell which is very deadly when combined with the Cannon barrage so make sure your backrow team also have Potions to ease the burden of your healer. To have even easier time, just make sure your Yekaterina have enough MP to cast 2-3 Laerlik spell whenever the Sahagin reinforcement arrive.
Once you defeated Octonarus, the ending sequence actually does not differ much from Melgina Boss fight. I suppose for the first run you always pick to obtain the Great Abyss Relic Key Item which perhaps will be used in the future part of storyline.
The best part of getting true ending for 2nd Abyss is definitely obtaining Melgina's bondmate because a good waifu design like Melgina deserved to be saved from her tragedy. Unfortunately it is implied that she died in the process of liberating her from Octonarus considering many things have happened within the centuries of her captivity. This might be a long shot but I hope Melgina could serve as playable character someday considering she could fit in perfectly as some sort Priest class that can cast DoT Curse Spells upon enemies. Because the main character resurrect Dead Adventurers including the legendary ones as his party members.
Once you finish Octonarus boss fight, you could reverse the Great Harken symbol on the Ship which probably could have avoided the messy bug that I encountered in my 2nd Run for the Port Town Abyss. You can also start the quest for 3rd Abyss with the recent update which I picked the Church faction since I finished Egolion's quest.
In the third Abyss apparently you will be exploring a subterranean Dungeon under a great Fortress Desert. I will look forward to the progress I can finish with this Abyss within this month and planned to clear one run first before I revisit 2nd Abyss and clean things up. Depending on the interest, I might consider doing the playthrough article for 3rd Abyss dungeon as well.
