Yami starting playing Arknights

Recently there is a new Gacha game called Arknight that has been gathering a significant amount of hype among FGO Community for some reason. Getting slightly tired with FGO Gacha Hell, i joined the bandwagon and tried to give this game a spin. This newcomer Gacha Game released by the same Publisher of Azur Lane and Girls Frontline no doubt had it takes that makes it deserve its recent attention.

Arknights is basically a Tower Defense game with bunch of Kemonomimi characters as the playable casts. This game is what happen if Plant Vs Zombies meet Kemono Friends with good measure of Gacha mechanics thrown into the mix as well as a slap of actually good gameplay as the icing on the cake. I think the main reason why this game attracts the attention of FGO players is because Arknights has several Top FGO Seiyuus lend their voices for the game's characters. In terms of Waifu department, Fate/Grand Order still stood undisputed but gameplay has gone quite stale due to the outdated mechanics compared to its contemporary which Arknights tried to exploit the void. I am not into playing multiple Gacha Games which is why i overlooked games like GBF, Dragalia and Azurlane. However the fresh gameplay that Arknights had managed to sell me over. In terms of grinding, Arknights is still a chore and it will take enormous effort to get your Operators up to Elite 2 Class. But having the option of  automated the battle makes it way less tiresome compared to FGO.

Lastly when it comes to Gacha rate, Arknights is only slightly better than FGO. The 6* characters which are equivalent to FGO SSRs are still very difficult to get, but the game at least offer more beginner friendly option and sparking mechanics. The main issue with Arknights would be the Saint Quartz equivalent currency of the game remains scarce which at least compensated with more budget friendly Premium Plan.

Overall Arknights offers more flexible and F2P friendly Gacha game compared to FGO. Yostar definitely did a good job in the attempt to take over FGO's market with Arknight by trying to win over the salty players of the former who are disillusioned with the crap SSR rates. As long as Arknights managed to keep its content fresh and fun long enough, it will pose a significant threat to FGO eventually, unless the latter step up their game which will be hard due to the Top management greed. I am not completely siding with Arknight either but it does has good potential and time will tell whether they are able to make full use of it.

My current roster, not the best but at least i scored Skadi from the recent event banner.
