Mechatalk Final Gear: Ariel - Albatross

 

 Very grateful that I am still given this opportunity to reach this far for Final Gear Mechatalk article. It is confirmed now that Final Gear Global will be closing its service on May 7th but It doesn't mean the Mechatalk series will end at this point and in fact will keep going on until the server close down. For the 34th Final Gear Mechatalk, I proudly present Ariel! One of the last 3 Units that got UR Upgrade before Final Gear no longer got updated and she has been one of my main target ever since I started Final Gear Mechatalk as there is no shortcut to upgrade this Homonculus Android waifu.

 Originally created as a Homonculus Combat Android through an experiment by Shedd Institute only to serve as replacement body, Ariel found a new purpose in life after she was rescued by Aita and her team. Ever since Ariel fought along Aita as a debt of gratitude. Created only to serve as replacement body purpose, Ariel is devoid of emotion at first and given the opportunity from her fateful meeting with Aita to learn living like a human through observing people. However Ariel particularly find watching Television to be the most effective ways to become more human and had developed personal fondness of collecting various movie DVDs. While the circumstances of her creation is rather tragic one, Ariel do dream the continue the dream of the Shedd Institute for her to become a true human.

In Final Gear, Ariel is an SR Heavy Shooter class who pilot a heavily armed Mecha Unit created by Shedd Institute called Albatross. This particular unit is armed to the teeth with energy weapon with High Fire rate Laser rifle that are capable to turn into Sword that fires energy waves should the need of Melee combat arise.

 Given her circumstances, Aita is probably the closest companion that Ariel had as she is main link that exposed her into real world. Ariel is actually one of the few characters from the early version of Final Gear that make it to the current iteration along with Pandora, Natasha and Aita which Aita was originally supposed to be the main heroine. While Ariel's storyline never did go anywhere when Final Gear is still updated, I think her plot should revolve around Shedd Institute where she will face other clones of her as Ariel gives out the aesthetics of the mass produced Artificial weapon who somehow had different fate from her fellow kins.

While Ariel came out as SR Character in Final Gear, she surprisingly had fair selection of extra skins even if they do not particularly stand out like other SSR Waifus. Despite her depiction as Homonculus Android who is enveloped by a mysterious fluid encased in a translucent sphere shell, her skins depicted that Ariel can get out her of her encasing just fine for a limited period at very least.

 Just like many of her peer Shooter class, Ariel is a pure DPS unit that boast high damage through sheer firepower and her kit grants her additional DPS when damaged and some self recovery for survivability. While Ariel doesn't particularly stand out at first, She can deal some respectable damage once she get her Unique mech unit that have powerful High Gear which only hampered with the required energy to activate.

 Being one of the last few URs that came out in Final Gear, Ariel UR upgrade allows her to compete with other UR Unit as her UR Skill grants her very High Damage Multiplier. As of now Ariel can reach 80 Million DPS with her UR Skill in level 3 but I am quite sure she can make it above 100 million when maxed which I will make sure to see it through. 

Update: As I finally manage to get Ariel UR Skill made it to Level 5, my expectations is right on the target as Ariel is capable to make it to 115 Million DPS Damage. With some more min-maxing, I am sure she can reach 120 Million with relative ease.

Overall having Ariel to make it into UR gives a great sense accomplishment for me because it is one of the harder thing to pull off before Final Gear closes its server for good as you need to grind her UR sequence the hard week which takes 16 weeks normally but fortunately I can make it within 12 Weeks as I started my grind for Ariel since December. While Final Gear's ultimate fate have been decided for good, I still have almost 2 months worth of time to give something back for this series. I assure that there will be more UR waifus coming down to Final Gear mechatalk before the game closes down permanently!
