Usually Hasbro Transformers related stuff is out of my radar but this one certainly caught my attention. This one is apparently released as part of Age of Primes lineup which I will dig up later. Dubbed as Star Optimus Prime, this is one appears as one of the larger Optimus Prime variant available for collectors that still come with transformations gimmick and a cool one with that. Apparently open for preorder last year, Age of Prime Star Optimus Prime is available for 150 USD SRP.
From the informations I can dig up around the net, Star Optimus Prime appears to be the 13 Primes version of Optimus. Standing 38 cm tall, this version of Optimus Prime have Fortress Transformation mode reminding of Fortress Maximus apart from the standard Convoy Truck vehicle mode and this one comes with Rodimus.
Hasbro's Age of Primes Star Optimus Prime caught my attention due to random social media feed where Blokees Defender Transformers really complement well with this Optimus Prime rendition. But when I take a deeper look on Star Optimus Prime, this mecha designed caught my interest because Its design heavily resemble Dragon Kaiser from Brave Exkaiser as the extra thick Legs and the Triangular crest on the chest is the dead giveaway. It won't be a surprise if Takara do repurpose some Yuusha design and reincorporate their past Yuusha Design. It can be argued that it is a better overall redesign and I will keep a tab on any future product related to this design. I will leave Dragon Kizer toy design as reference for the readers to decide whether the similarities are coincidence or not.
