Fate/Grand Order Summer Kyun Chara Review

Some catalyst for Summer Servants.

 Last year i fared rather badly in the summer gacha as none of the Summer Servants visited my Chaldea, therefore i decided to get myself some sort of catalyst in preparation for this year's rerun banner. Around that time there were Banpresto small figures called Kyun Chara featuring the Summer year 1 servants which fits the bill for me. At first i got myself Saber and Kiyohime since those two were my most wanted servant from the banner but i bought the summer Scathach as well for the sake of completion. These Kyun Chara are roughly as big as Nendoroid but sculpt quality is worse considering the pricetag.

 During her debut Banner, Scathach Shishou gains instant popularity with her gorgeous design and that definitely make DW decide to make her to be the first Summer Welfare servant as Assassin class to ease up the salt. Shishou's summer version's personality is more opened up compared to her Lancer class so you had more flirty moments with her. Performance wise, Summer Shishou is a decent AOE farmer but doesn't have much utility outside her role. I might consider investing some grail for her if get Skadi next year.

 The Yandere Snake Princess, Kiyohime joined the first year of Summer Servants as Lancer Class. Her unique combination of Swimsuit and Kimono makes her the most appealing one for me out of the Summer Year 1 Banner. If it is not for her yandere personality, she might be a good contender for Gudao's lover. Performance wise, Kiyohime is rather mediocre ST Buster Servant who will be outshadowed by Mama Raikou. Fortunately i do get her this year though i wasted too much SQ for Summer Mordred out of impulse.

Comparison with Nendoroid 600 Artoria Pendragon

 Last of the bunch is Summer Artoria who is probably the best servant in the Summer Year 1 Banner in terms of meta. I think out of the Kyun Chara Batch, Archuria is the only one with removable accesories. What makes Archuria particularly powerful in FGO is her ability to NP loop due to her high NP Gain especially when she is soloing. Regardless, i still prefer Maid Alter over Archuria because the former had more personality even in the summer version.

 While Kyun Chara Sculpt quality is subpar due to the price tag, it still makes a very good decoration for the desk if you like the particular servants. So far the Catalyst worked well for Kiyohime though i wasted too much for Mordred so my chance of getting Archuria will be rather low. Apparently the Second Summer year had Kyun Chara too but there was no offer for the preorder which i could have got the Maid Alter.
