Mechatalk Final Gear: Aita - Swift

Every good things have to come to an end at some point and so does for Final Gear Mechatalk too. As a Token of Appreciation and preparation before Final Gear officially close down, Realm of Darkness presents the 42nd and last of Final Gear series Mechatalk! As promised It will be another UR Pilot and it is no other than Aita with her Neo Zeong Mecha, Swift! Not particularly the most special characters in terms of Meta but I do have a reason to pick this Peppy Pink haired Waifu as the last of Final Gear Mechatalk as the Swansong to send off this once Promising Mecha Game series. Final Gear Mechatalk may end with Aita but I promise there will be a couple more articles down the road to wrap up Final Gear.

Being a genius and passionate tinkerer of Mecha since childhood, Aita found her dream come true as she joins Arita faction on the onset of war with Kegha Empire during the Imperial War. With her talent of piloting and mechanical skill, Aita soon rose as a war hero for Arita Faction and it is a dream come true for her as she able to gain plenty of materials to tinker with from the Kegha's defeated mech units. As the Imperial War concluded, as a reward for her contribution, Aita is given a control over a City which she named Aita City which she served as Mayor but mostly spending times in her workshop or do some adventuring.

In Final Gear Aita is an SR Demolisher Class who piloted her own created mech called Swift which is pretty much a miniature Neo Zeong that carry giant energy cannon and can summon turrets that is piloted by Aita's Robot assistant.

Given her personality, Aita might appear as borderline Mad Scientist who can create a magnificent piece of Technology or a complete harmless failure. For this reason, Aita gained the unwanted attention of Heiress of Vlamir Industry, Pandora who controlled Arita's Military Industry Complex while ignoring her self-proclaimed rival Mirabelle Decory. Despite her eccentric personality, Aita is quite a compassionate individual as she managed to have former Kegha Empire knights and many talents joins her retinue including Coreleah and Ariel which had been discussed in previous Final Gear Mechatalk.

If Final Gear didn't met the demise due to mismanagement the rest of Aita's Retinue like Helena and Graves could have got their own Unique Mech as their character were propped up for it with Veteran Seiyuus voicing their character.

If I had to spell out the main reason that I picked Aita as the candidate for the last Final Gear Mechatalk article, it would be due to her status in Final Gear. Back when Final Gear was in its prototype stage and Evelynn had not been given her main heroine role. It was Aita who was supposed to be the main heroine. To be frank the early stages mockups look quite fascinating as some of the characters like Natasha and Pandora had their own Prototype mechs before their current one. So all in all I think giving Aita a proper homage as the former main heroine status is a fitting way for me to bid farewell for Final Gear. Perhaps if I am motivated enough, I might even try to make article to discuss older version of Final Gear.

In terms of role, Aita is supposed to be Semi DPS Buffer who grants her allies some useful offensive buff while dealing some damage herself. However due to her old stats modifier, She just performed very poorly on the DPS department. Interestingly her Boss Enemy version is able to stun your unit with her Short Ranged slow attack though she is never any credible threat for an end game party.

At some point in Final Gear, Aita is one of the earlier candidate who obtain her UR Upgrade which makes her to be more well rounded support that grant extra Shield on Allies when her HP is down to certain threshold. This would make her serve as a decent Tank Unit as well since her BP can rise exponentially with this build. But given her Damage Modifier is rather pathetic, Aita won't stand any chance against Ruby and Zero even with her additional Energy Shield. But In the end I am quite grateful that I was able to make in time finishing Aita before Final Gear Global server closes down for good.

While Final Gear never managed to reach the potential it deserved, I am still happy the time that I spent with this game despite the monotonous routine and It is a fulfilling journey for myself to archive whatever that I find noteworthy from Final Gear with this Mechatalk series. While we have to bid farewell with Final Gear for now, I do still really hope that this series could have some proper reboot at some point in the future.
