It’s been over a decade since Kotobukiya first launched its Frame Arms model kits, and one of the lineup’s oldest entries which also became a trailblazer for the Frame Arms Girl series, is finally getting an upgraded version! Simply dubbed Gourai 2, this model kit highlights just how far Kotobukiya’s Frame Arms line has come. Scheduled for a June 2026 release, Frame Arms Gourai 2 will retail for 8,000 Yen.
The original Gourai was a land-based, ranged mecha with tank-inspired aesthetics, and Gourai 2 takes that design to the next level. The standout feature is its transformation gimmick: it can convert into a literal Main Battle Tank, which is easily the highlight of the new release.
While Kotobukiya has been heavily invested in the Frame Arms Girl series over the past years, this move seems to signal a full revival of the original Frame Arms line. If this strategy proves successful, we might even see other classics, like Stylet, re-released in the same upgraded style as Gourai 2.
