Ever since Hot Toys released their 1/6 action figure of Neo from the first Matrix movie, I’ve been eagerly anticipating the eventual release of Neo in his full Matrix Reloaded glory. Of all times in the midst of global geopolitical turmoil, Hot Toys chose to drop the Reloaded Neo. Cataloged as MMS868, this version is priced at $280 and scheduled for release in Q2 2027.
If the first Matrix Neo came packed with an arsenal of guns, the Reloaded version brings an array of melee weapons, allowing reenactment of Neo’s unforgettable chateau fight scene. Personally, I don’t need much from the Reloaded Neo 1/6 action figure since he’s most badass when taking down agents with his bare hands. That said, the melee weapons included in this Hottoys would pair perfectly with my copy of Hot Toys John Wick figure.
The Matrix Reloaded Neo is also a big reason I became a fanboy of Keanu Reeves. There’s something fascinating about this version of Neo, even though most fans favor the first movie’s storyline. I think it comes down to Neo embodying the possibility of things that humans can achieve when they fully realize their potential.
Had I preordered Hot Toys’ Johnny Silverhand, I’d now have the ultimate Keanu Reeves action figure trio: Neo, John Wick, and Silverhand, a trinity of messianic mortal, embodiment of the grim reaper, and rockstar revolutionary. It’s a rather compelling representation of Reeves’ enduring iconography in Hollywood.
