Switch Konosuba 2nd VN: Aqua Ending

  The second Konosuba: Love for these Clothes of Desire Heroine route post is here! Considering Aqua still remains my favorite main heroine from Konosuba to this day being the ever lovable useless goddess of all things。 So she gets the preferential treatment and the one who will be featured this time! But to be honest as much as Aqua remains to be my favorite Konosuba Heroine, her 2nd VN route is unfortunately the weakest among the main 3 Heroines. If you expect some romance flag in Aqua's route be prepared to be thoroughly disappointed but you will still be entertained if you just want to see Aqua behave like Aqua.

 Aqua is pretty much the main driving force of what makes Konosuba a hilarious fantasy isekai series throughout the whole span of the series which is one of the main reason she is my favorite heroine. There is a certain charm from a character design who would make a perfect goddess but instead behave like immature brat being irresponsible and selfish among many things and ends up on the short end stick and pathetic most of the time. 

 In Konosuba 2nd VN she still behave like a useless goddess as always but what particularly stands out s in this game from this water goddes is that Aqua got constantly bullied by Megumin's pet devil cat Chomusuke and plays troublemaker role quite often including in other Heroine's route which she tend to get her comeuppance.

 In the main storyline, as one of Kazuma's main party Aqua is the last one to get one of the costume from the Black Tablet artifact which changes the wearer's personality 180°. In Aqua's case, her personality turned into gentle and caring proper Goddess which are expected from her Archetype in JRPGs. At first Aqua is rather uninterested to wear the cloth in order to catch the main antagonist in the 2nd VN which appear to be almost successful until something makes Aqua's personality turned to her usual self.

 In this Konosuba Dress up Darling VN game, Aqua's outfits CGs tend make Aqua behave like spoiled High School Childhood friend who can behave Tsundere at times, high maintenance teenage girl or even behave seductively with her feminine charm. Despite being a selfish useless goddess, Aqua is really good at acting possibly the best among Konosuba female heroines along with Chris being a goddess after all.

 As I mentioned previously in Chris ending, since the 2nd VN does not allow to take screenshots, the Heroine route discussion will be more simple compared to the 1st VN. If you got into Aqua's route in which the extra outfits from Chapter 1-3 are pretty much mandatory to be given to her. 

 In her route just like in the 1st VN, Aqua got into another crushing debt yet again and this time is from her Drinking debt. Kazuma then made Aqua do many oddjobs including hard physical labor to gather funds for the debt repayment. However the money gathered is still not enough which makes Aqua cause pathetic tantrum which Kazuma suggested to go for some treasure hunting with just two of them. However braving the hazards, this adventure proved to be empty handed and cause Kazuma and Aqua caught into trap even falling into the pit which caused Kazuma fell unconscious. However in this instance Aqua behaved like proper caring healer tend to Kazuma's wounds and give him a lap pillow until he awakes. Moved by Aqua's rare kindness, remembering the Black Tablet artifact still got one more use, Kazuma then told Aqua that he figure out another way to get money using the Cloth produced from the Artifact.

 It turns out that the moneymaking method Kazuma figured out using the Black Tablet is to have Aqua wear barmaid outfit made by Artifact and make Aqua serve as waiter in the Guild's tavern. Being the pampered goddess as usual Aqua is obviously crying about the arrangement on one of the Kazuma's visit which the latter is obviously have none of it. Whether it is from her maid costume, Aqua always seems to be working the most while other maids are able to take it easy. Being the useless goddess as usual, Aqua kept breaking things with her clumsiness which incur her more debt to Kazuma's wallow.

To be honest Aqua's Heroine route final outfit is easily the weakest of all 7 Heroines because it is as generic as it gets compared to others. This is one if the main reason why I consider Aqua's route belong to the lower tier among the 7 Heroine endings apart from lacking romance fanservice. Lastly being one of the main heroine, Aqua gets to keep 2 Endings depending if the player scored all of the affection flag in the story or not.

  In the good ending, Aqua's barmaid errand with the magical outfit is still not to pay off the debt. But taking pity on Aqua, Kazuma promised to help paying Aqua's debt if she wins a game of Jenga which is foreign in the world setting with him in which Aqua fails spectacularly even if she had attempted to cheat with blessing spell. The story ends with Aqua continuing her crazy antics as usual asking for rematch with Megumin and Darkness joining in which Kazuma accept the challenge even with more stacked odds.

 Just like the 1st VN, Aqua's normal ending is actually better and probably one of the few saving grace of her route in this VN. Because it shows how close the relationship between Aqua and Kazuma actually despite their constant bickering as they will be always be there for each other on the important moments. Not exactly a romance but akin to siblings or childhood friends that have the potential to go to that direction. Aqua wanting to get piggyback from Kazuma with the latter simply comply just shows the amount of trust that those two really have with each other.

 In the normal ending, Kazuma taking pity on Aqua straightaway helped to partially repay her debt with his money. On one of the day Kazuma went pick up  Aqua after shift, Aqua being Aqua just went overboard with the celebration and went on drinking spree ending up herself getting intoxicated from customers drinking treat. Kazuma then simply just give Aqua a piggyback to go home which Aqua is surprisingly happy with her life having comrades caring about her while randomly blurting that it is not fair that Kazuma only give piggyback to Megumin. However soon Kazuma regret on his act of kindness as Aqua eventually barfed on Kazuma's back.

 While I am rather disappointed with Aqua's route in the 2nd VN, It doesn't really change her status as my favorite and probably I can wash away the bad aftertaste with the Dungeon Crawling game. I suppose the somewhat lackluster fanservice on certain department for Aqua had to do with Kadokawa is not too eager to have the main heroine flag developed too much with Aqua because Megumin's route is taking a brake as well in this game though not as bad as Aqua. Among the main Heroines routes, Darkness is probably the best one when it comes to fanservice to make up for the 1st VN and her article shall be done after I finish Sena's route first.
