As a part of Halloween celebration for this year, This week will have something more Special in store for the weekly Review! To match the spooky atmosphere of Halloween, Realm of Darkness proudly presents Hagane Works Demonbane Review! This Review should have been made 3 years ago but with many turns of event including some motivational issues, The review can be realized recently, but still better be late than never right?
Overall Hagane Works Demonbane is a perfect rendition of this Eldritch Horror slaying Super Robot that a fans could ask for. Given the series is almost 20 years old and Japanese treated their past series rather poorly, it is quite a miracle that we still got a decent Diecast Mecha for Demonbane. While this version Hagane Works Demonbane didn’t include Shantak Wing backpack, it has pretty much the essential stuff that you expected from Demonbane like Scimitar of Barzai and Cthugha/Ithaqua Pistols and that what matters. The articulation quality for Haganeworks Demonbane is surprisingly good too which you will see in the review, considering only Bandai are the one who usually delivers top tier articulation for Mecha action figure.
Feel free to leave any comments in the review if you have something that you want to ask about the Demonbane series!
Hagane Works Demonbane comes with 3 sets of weapons as its accessories. Apart from Scimitar of Barzai and Cthugha/Ithaqua, this rendition also comes with Shining Trapezohedron which is one of the Reality breaking ultimate weapon against the Cosmic Horror that Demonbane face.
Demonbane is rather special one because It is some of the best specimen for a mecha that ever come out from Visual Novel series when the genre was in its golden age in Mid 2000s, courtesy from Ni0 of course who handled Mecha designs from Muvluv. I got into Demonbane through the anime but eventually end up reading the Visual Novel too which Demonbane got Zanma Taisei and Kishin Hishou. Definitely recommend the VN if anyone wish to get into the series and got the time to spare.
When the Photos for Hagane Works demonbane was taken, I still had a copy of Figma Nyaruko which is probably the best action figure proxy for Nyarlathotep, Demonbane’s archenemy. Despite the cute girl look, Nyaruko is still the evil Cosmic horror deity through and through, thus the conflict with Demonbane is still inevitable should both encounter each other. Nyaruko will definitely have a bad day though with the Shining Trapezohedron even if Demonbane doesn’t come with giant fork.
Another of my load has lightened with Hagane Works Demonbane completed! Considering the effort I spent for the photoshoot back then, Demonbane deserves a chance to make its appearance even if it takes a while. Personally, I am very glad to get this copy since I was unable to get the Gokin version when I was a jobless college kid considering these sorts of products rarely got a rerun after the initial release. For those who missed out the Hagane Works, the Moderoid version is still a very decent and more affordable substitute. In the future there will be more of these Reviews for the Older Toys photos that never make it to the blog previously.
