February 2026 Loot

Another sumptuous haul this month and I have to admit, some of it was pure impulse buying. A portion of this haul came from the Jakarta Toys Event, and without it, the collection wouldn’t have been nearly as large.

As expected, Chinese hobby products dominate in quantity, while the Japanese items take the lead in overall value. Highlights from this haul include finally completing the Yilichuangwan Fruity Robo set, now just missing Pino-Flight to complete the full collection. The REA-Lynx packaging is as massive as expected, and I managed to snag my copy of Blokees Tarn Action Edition at a great price. On top of that, I finally completed the 52Toys Racing Car AMTS set, which I thought I would not made it.

Looks can be deceiving, though: the most expensive items aren’t necessarily the biggest. In terms of value, the top four are: B-Daman Toyrise Blue Braver, Joytoy Perturabo, Figma Chilchuck, and Sentinel’s Yoroiden Suiko Shin. Together, these four items account for roughly 70% of the haul’s total value. I was lucky enough to get Suiko Shin at a very good price, leaving only the Earth Yoroiden remaining.

Since I’m leaving my current job, I might have more free time soon perhaps enough to finally start reviewing my backlog and move fast enough to make touch some items from this haul.

October 2025 loot

  

A rather blurry loot photo this time due to some mishaps in the filter but still overall solid hauls for this month. As usual it is a mix of Chinese and Japanese manufacturer hobby related goods though the Chinese based loots do dominate here. Just like many hauls before, the most highly valued loot does not have to be the largest box and it happen to be Riobot Soulgain, though Joytoy Tyrant 03 is not far off when it comes to quality. Surprisingly Blindbox had a significant representation in this one since I give what is essentially Sembo's equivalent for Blokees Shining ver for Metal Cardbot a try along with Blokees Defender 04. As for model kits I do look forward Soundwave model kit and FA Hyaku Shiki. As usual, I don't have much time to savor my collections these days though I do look forward for more opportunities once I moved to new place in near future.

Dungeon Meshi Figma Senshi

 
 It has been almost one year has passed since the Dungeon Meshi Figma lineup began and the whole circle is completed within this year as the last of Laios Party member, Senshi made it as Figma! The hearty Dwarf Chef, Senshi made it as the Dungeon Meshi Figma released after Laios, Marcille and Chilchuck got their turn. Scheduled for April 2026 release, Figma Senshi will be sold for 15800 Yen Price tag.

 Compared to other Dungeon Meshi Figma, Senshi appears to be the most expensive for some reason. Probably it is a mix of Accessory size and unusual Figma Body type mold. For the accessory, Figma Senshi come with his Battle Axe, cooking Pot and Knife which makes him perfect for combat and cooking pose. In Dungeon Meshi, Senshi is definitely one of the primary reasons for Laios Party able to survive long in the labyrinth with minimum Provisions as Senshi's cooking skill combined with Laios extensive monster knowledge enable the party to survive many perilous situation. With Senshi's release, Dungeon Meshi figma is pretty much finished but the series could go abit longer along with the hype of 2nd Cour as Farlin, Shuro and Izutsumi are some of the prime candidates to join the Figma. Even Izutsumi got some revoltech release announcement not too long ago.

June 2025 Loot

 
 It is the end of the month, managing to score Hat Trick for a full month activity and time for some loot Post! Not particularly flashy compared to the hauls from past 3 months but still a very solid overall hauls. As usual it is a mix of Mecha, Warhammer 40k and some Mecha musume stuff. 

This haul is mostly dominated by Chinese loots but by this time you won't really notice the difference in packaging quality which is a proof how developed Chinese Hobby industry by this time. The best of the haul is easily the Degenerator Industry B'T X which look promising indeed. But my personal favorite will be Earnestcore Anubis and Cang Toys Samael, seriously the Cang Toys Zodiac series do look really promising. 

As for Warhammer 40k, finally I decided to obtain a Tempestor for relatively affordable price to command my Tempestus Scion Squad along with Custodes Terminator. I never expect myself to consider expanding my Custodes squad but I am considering to do so due to their recent entry to Warhammer Tacticus. Overall a solid haul but I will consider to seriously cut down my collection for anime figurines that are not related to FGO or Mecha in the future.

Dungeon Meshi Figma Chilchuck

Took quite a bit of time since Marcille, but Chilchuck finally joins his party in Figma lineup! I think it has been around 8 months which is usually a rather lengthy period for Goodsmile to complete their Figma series. But I suppose current volatile global economy situation do really affect productivity for many hobby manufacturers including GSC. Scheduled for January 2026 release, Figma Chilchuck will be sold for 11800 Yen.

Arknights Dungeon Meshi Collab Afterthoughts

It has been about three weeks since Arknights collab event wrapped up with a bang! Given Hypergryph did a well-done job for the collab event just like previous ones like Monster Hunter and Rainbow Six, I feel that this Dungeon Meshi deserves a post-event review article.

Despite Arknights gameplay is not exactly as fresh as it used to be, given the same formula has been running more than 5 years, Dungeon Meshi is still an overall fun and compact experience. Thus, as a Dungeon Meshi Fanboy who is quite satisfied with the Collab adaptation, I feel that I should contribute a part in preserving the better part of Dungeon Meshi collab event.

Sword of Convallaria - Dungeon Meshi Collab

 
 Dungeon Meshi being a Top Tier Fantasy Manga series are very generous for some reason when it comes to lending out its IP for Gacha Game collabs. We have gotten 2-3 Gacha Games last year that had Dungeon Meshi collaboration notably Arknights which Global Server should be having in March next month. Then out of nowhere another Chinese Gacha game called Sword of Convallaria got the Dungeon Meshi collab in which the CN server of the game will get it in 21st Februar 2025. For some reason Convallaria Dungeon Meshi collab does not feature Laios as playable apparently and will have Marcille and Farlin as the Target gacha along with Senshi tagging along.

For this collab announcement alone, I give Sword of Convallaria a try to see what its worth. From what I grasp over one day worth of playtime, Sword of Convallaria is a turn based Strategy Gacha game reminiscent of Tactics Ogre. But the streamlined gameplay mechanics feel like Mercenary Saga. Overall I find the decision for Dungeon Meshi to choose a collab with Convallaria to be a peculiar one since with its popularity, I believe it can choose more popular Gacha game to do collab with. Nevertheless I suppose Dungeon Meshi IP Holder had a reason of its own and put enough faith with Convallaria. Considering the collab announcement are just for CN server so far, I think the Global server will get the collab within few months considering Convallaria just had Half year anniv.

 To me if a Game like Convallaria could secure a collab with Dungeon Meshi, I don't see any reason why Wizardry Daphne unable to get one in the future considering Dungeon Meshi origins are deeply tied with Wizardry. Nevertheless I am hoping the best future for Dungeon Meshi, Convallaria and Wizardry Daphne.

October 2024 Loot

  Some hauls arriving from mid of this month! Not as fancy compared to previous batch but overall still a solid addition to my collection. This month got some significant addition for Transformers which I bought some Blokees Blindbox as well as BFF Kalavinka and Trailer Convoy for my KBB Optimus which is totally worth it. On top of that I got my remainder preorder for Macross series which is VF-Hi Metal VF-19 and Tiny Session YF-19. Still waiting for VF-Hi Metal rendition for Macross Plus to follow up someday. The most expensive of the lot is definitely Frame Arms Girl Star Gaogaigar as a gesture for my willingness to invest on Kotobukiya Mecha Musumes. Lastly I got myself Pop Up Parade Marcille which I might consider to sell since I am getting the Figma and SHF Gohan as my part of paying homage to Toriyama Sensei.

Dungeon Meshi 1st Season

It has been few months since the 1st 24-episode Season of Dungeon Meshi finished its airing and I was only able to finish the marathon recently. I was never the FOMO type and my journey toward this series prove to be a fruitful one with this approach. At first I never think Trigger Studio would be a good fit to work on Dungeon Meshi series considering their Portfolio tend to lean on Mecha series as they inherit the bulk of Gainax Studio talents. But in the end this anime adaptation works out somehow even if it is not the best fit as Trigger Studio did give a suitable animation for one of the best Japanese Fantasy series over past decade.

Within the alloted slot of 24 Episodes, Trigger's studio Dungeon Meshi Anime managed to make it halfway through the Manga Storyline and the series just need another season to conclude its storyline properly. Never underestimate modern anime speed at consuming through the original source material. Overall the Dungeon Meshi anime adaptation is pretty much a faithful interpretation of the original source material, nothing much and nothing less. I suppose the production team are not experienced enough to flesh out this Top Tier source material but it is an acceptable one nonetheless. Given the Trigger Studio is the one making the Dungeon Meshi anime, from time to time you will see some over-the-top animation style that is a signature work of Gainax style animation.

My favorite part of the Dungeon Meshi 1st season is easily the scene where Laios mimicking Dog and I will certainly look forward to the Succubus episode and Killer rabbit in the 2nd season. I am hoping the best for Dungeon Meshi 2nd season and look forward for some more extra side stories for this series by Kui Ryoko-sensei.

Arknights Dungeon Meshi Collab Event - Delicious on Terra

 When it comes to collab events, while not the flashiest, Arknights has pretty good sense of taste in selecting the Partner for their collab. As the Arknights Global server is going to get the Rainbow Six collab banner, CN player finally going to get really some good treat with  Dungeon Meshi Collab which has been teased for couple months already. If we follow the typical cycle of Arknights Global server, we are going to get this event around End of February or March.

Dungeon Meshi Figma Marcille Donato

 Dungeon Meshi is now ready to release second entry for their Figma series! As expected after Laios, Marcille is the next one to follow up just like other GSC lineup. Scheduled for May 2025 release, Figma Marcille will be sold for 12000 Yen.

While the accessories are as lackluster as ever for 12000 Yen Figma, the regular version of Marcille comes with the suitable faceplates befitting her depiction in Dungeon Meshi. Off all Falin's Rescue Party members, Marcille is the most vocal when it comes to consuming monsters but she ends up liking the Monster dishes made by Senshi. Marcille will definitely play even greater role in the second cour anime especially nearing the end which Dungeon Meshi fans can look forward too. As for Senshi and Chilchuck, I wonder if they will be released as dual pack or single considering the size of the character.

Dungeon Meshi Figma Laios Touden

  Just as the 1st cour of Dungeon Meshi anime concluded, GSC is finally ready to release the Figma lineup for this really good Fantasy series starting with Laios Touden! Usually I will use decent picture to represent the product released for the product, but this one just might as well fit the character of the Main Protagonist of Dungeon Meshi. Scheduled for April 2025, Figma Laios will be sold for 12000 Yen.

In Dungeon Meshi, Laios Touden is a Fighter class and the leader of Touden adventuring party who decided to enter the Golden Kingdom dungeon once again to save her Sister who was devoured by a Dragon in the process of saving the party. Armed with his immense knowledge and interest about monsters, Laios enters the Dungeon and live off the cuisine made from the monsters his party defeated with the help of wandering Dwarf Chef Senshi. Despite lacking common sense at times and can behave downright creepy when it comes to his obsession of monsters, Laios proves himself a worthy leader leading his party against the perils in the dungeon.

 Firstly I don't know whether it is due to worsening recent Japanese Economy combined with the Global one, Figma Laios fell on rather pricy scale for a Figma with such price tag. The worst offender for me is that for 12000 Yen, the creepy iconic expression Faceplate of Figma Laios is not included by default and must be obtained through GSC Online Shop. This is one of the distinct characteristic of this unique protagonist Fantasy series that Goodsmile screw up rather badly which could jeopardize the subsequent release. At this point I just hope Marcille could have better release as the next Figma candidate.

Dungeon Meshi Nendoroid Laios Touden

 As Dungeon Meshi has begun its airing on Netflix, the merchandise for one of the best Fantasy series from last decade has started to trickle in! While Marcille will probably getting the most of the merchandise being the token waifu from the series, now we have the main protagonist Laios kickstart the Nendoroid lineup for Dungeon Meshi! Scheduled for July 2024 release, Nendoroid Laios will be sold for 6900 Yen.

For the 7000 Yen price tag, Laios accessories is rather lacking with Walking Mushroom Monster and his creepy face being the only notable Accessory. Personally I will be waiting for his possible figma release because this best recent Fantasy series deserves this much at least. In Dungeon Meshi, Laios Touden is the de facto leader of Touden Adventuring party who leads the ragtag team to rescue her sister after being devoured by a Red Dragon. Being a fighter in his team, Laios strength does not come from his martial prowess but mainly from his intimate knowledge of monsters that stems from his obsession. Despite his quirk Laios is not to be trifled with because he survived many TPK scenario with his believable character and I will take Laios on any day over those poorly written Isekai protagonists.

Dungeon Meshi - Delicious in Dungeon

 It has been 10 years since the first serialization and Things have come to a full circle for this Fantasy Masterpiece of a manga with the final chapter being published last week, Truly it is a very enjoyable ride while it last. While I never thought Cooking and Fantasy genre is particularly compatible, Ryoko Kui-Sensei had proved otherwise with her Dungeon Meshi. I have reserved writing any post related with Dungeon Meshi as my own way to pay respect for this series since I wanted to give the most proper judgement that this series deserves. Long Story short, Dungeon Meshi is probably one, if not the best Fantasy series that came out of Manga Industry over past 20 years being a complete package of a good story.
