Warhammer 40k Joytoy 1/18 Vulkan He’stan

 

One might be slightly disappointed that this release isn’t the Primarch Vulkan himself, but it remains an excellent addition to the Salamanders faction. Among the recent wave of named Space Marine elite releases in Joytoy Warhammer 40k portfolio, Vulkan He’stan joins the lineup. Scheduled for release in August 2026, the JoyToy 1/18 scale Vulkan He’stan will retail for around 75 USD.

Sharing the name of the Salamanders’ Primarch, Vulkan He’stan is a former 4th Company Captain who was elevated to the rank of Forgefather, one of the most prestigious positions within the Chapter. In this role, he is entrusted with recovering the relics of Primarch Vulkan, a sacred duty tied to the hope of the Primarch’s eventual return. Through this quest, He’stan has recovered several of Vulkan’s relics, most notably the Spear of Vulkan.

Vulkan He’stan is arguably one of the most striking Salamanders Space Marine figures released by JoyToy to date. Given his prestigious role, he comes equipped with impressive wargear such as the Spear of Vulkan, making him a standout centerpiece for any Salamanders collection and a fitting addition while awaiting the eventual release of Primarch Vulkan.

I’m very likely to pick this one up, especially since I already have Adrax Agatone and Salamanders remain one of my favorite Space Marine Chapters.

Warhammer 40k Joytoy 1/18 Salamanders Assault Intercessors Sergeant Krajax Review

Another action figure from my JoyToy 40k collection makes its way to the review table, and this time it’s the Assault Intercessor Sergeant, squad leader of a Space Marine unit. I might not have made it obvious before, but Salamanders are actually one of my favorite Space Marine chapters. Their reputation for being among the most humane of the Imperium’s superhuman warriors really stands out. In the grimdark darkness of the far future, having even a shred of decency and compassion toward humanity is a rare and underappreciated trait.

The Salamanders Assault Intercessor comes with relatively basic accessories, featuring a Thunder Hammer and a mini-flamer as its main armament. For a Space Marine sergeant especially an assault variant, I would have expected additional survivability options, such as a storm shield, which feels like a missed opportunity by JoyToy. That said, Salamanders are one of those chapters I’m always willing to invest a bit more in for my collection, so it would have been nice to see a “tankier” weapon loadout included

Warhammer 40k Joytoy 1/18 Imperial Fist MkIII Breacher Squad Sergeant

 

Among my sizable Joytoy 40K collection, this is the first time I’m reviewing a Horus Heresy–related figure on an individual basis. Although the Imperial Fists have never particularly stood out to me, I somehow ended up with a fairly large collection from this First Founding chapter. From that lineup, I’ve decided to take a closer look at the Mk III Breacher Squad Sergeant from the Horus Heresy era.

By the time Joytoy began producing figures from the Horus Heresy setting, their overall product quality had noticeably improved. This Mk III Sergeant, in particular, has fewer playability issues, especially when it comes to swapping parts when compared to earlier releases. While it may appear to be one of the more generic Joytoy 40K figures at first glance, the Breacher Sergeant comes with a solid selection of weapon accessories, making it a good value for its price.

The Mk III Space Marine armor is one of the most iconic designs associated with the Horus Heresy period. Known for its reinforced plating, this armor pattern offers enhanced defensive capabilities at the cost of reduced mobility. Even so, it suits the Imperial Fists perfectly, given their specialization in siege warfare and fortified combat, particularly in their bitter rivalry with the Iron Warriors.

Warhammer 40k Joytoy 1/18 Primarch Corvus Corax

 

 Following the release of Jaghatai Khan earlier this year, Joytoy has unveiled another Primarch for its growing Warhammer 40K lineup. This time, it’s none other than Corvus Corax of the Raven Guard joining the fray. Scheduled for a June 2026 release, the Primarch Corvus Corax figure will retail for $120.

It’s been around three years since Joytoy began producing Primarchs for their 40K series, which remains the standout tier of the lineup. Corvus Corax is almost certain to meet expectations, and one particularly welcome feature is his detachable winged backpack, making it much easier to display him alongside his brothers without taking up excessive space.

With Corax’s arrival, only five Primarchs remain to receive action figure rendition by Joytoy: Fulgrim, Ferrus Manus, Vulkan, Konrad Curze, and Lorgar Aurelian. Personally, Fulgrim, Vulkan, and Curze are must-haves, but based on Joytoy’s past release patterns, Lorgar seems like a likely next candidate—especially given his history with Corax.

In the Warhammer 40K universe, Corvus Corax is one of the more reserved Primarchs, a trait that carries over into his combat doctrine and that of the Raven Guard. Known for their guerrilla warfare tactics, they specialize in precise decapitation strikes delivered either with lightning speed or near-perfect stealth. While Corax may not be the most prominent Primarch, his wargear looks particularly impressive in Joytoy’s rendition, offering more playability and weapon options compared to many of his brothers.

Warhammer 40k Joytoy 1/18 Kappic Eagle Tempestus Scion I Review

 

Another addition from my Joytoy collection that I recently had the chance to review. During its limited run a couple of years ago, Joytoy built a respectable portfolio for the Astra Militarum faction, including the Tempestus Scions. For this elite subfaction of the Imperium, Joytoy chose the Kappic Eagles as their representative unit. Beyond being some of the finest baseline human soldiers in the Warhammer 40K setting, the Kappic Eagles are especially known for their precision airdrop assaults and surgical strike capabilities.

The first Kappic Eagles Tempestus figure I reviewed is the standard Tempestus Scion trooper, equipped with a hot-shot lasgun. As part of an elite Militarum unit, these “hot-shot” weapons deliver significantly more stopping power than those used by regular guardsmen, well-suited to the high-risk operations Tempestus Scions are deployed into, and in some cases even capable of bringing down Space Marines with concentrated fire.

Joytoy’s rendition of the Tempestus Scion is excellent in terms of sculpt and overall presence, though it does fall short in modularity. This makes posing the figure a bit more effortful than expected. Even so, it remains one of the better Astra Militarum action figure interpretations in recent years—especially considering Joytoy’s slower output amid the ongoing global situation.

Hoping that I do have opportunity to review my Kappic Eagle kill team in the future.

Warhammer 40k Joytoy - 1/18 Ultramarine w/ Assault Cannon Review

I’m slowly clearing the backlog of my JoyToy collection reviews, though at this pace it doesn’t seem like it will end anytime soon. This time, I’m taking a look at one of my Space Marine Terminators: the Ultramarines Terminator with Assault Cannon.

The Terminator Armor series is one of the stronger entries in JoyToy’s Warhammer 40K lineup in terms of overall value. Thanks to the characteristically bulky design of Terminator armor, limitations in articulation are far less noticeable. The heavy proportions actually work in the figure’s favor, making it feel solid and imposing rather than restricted.

On the battlefield, the Assault Cannon variant provides invaluable fire support for a Terminator squad. Terminators are essentially heavy juggernauts, frontline units that carve their way forward through sheer durability rather than mobility. In open combat, the Assault Cannon’s high rate of fire is devastating, easily mowing down lightly armored threats in a role somewhat comparable to a Heavy Bolter.

In the Space Hulk card game I own, however, the Assault Cannon Terminator isn’t always the optimal choice against Genestealers. Mechanically, it functions like a Bolter unit with triple attack dice. In theory, that means it can eliminate up to three Genestealers in a lucky roll but with 50% odds, it can just as easily backfire. It’s powerful, but far from foolproof.

Hopefully, I’ll be able to complete my First Founding Terminator collection eventually, just as I did with my Intercessor Marines. At the moment, I am still weighing my options for the Raven Guard and Space Wolves Terminator Candidate , so the hunt continues.

Warhammer 40k Joytoy - 1/18 Allarus Custodian Osyr Archimaxes

I’m finally back to posting Joytoy Warhammer 40k reviews now that I’ve settled into my new place and I’m kicking things off with a figure from the Adeptus Custodes! I’ve never been a Custodes person, but I somehow keep accumulating them as part of my Joytoy 40k collection. The figure in this review is my first Custodes model from Joytoy: the Allarus Custodian.

Originally, I only planned to get one Custodes figure to represent Kitten from the Text-to-Speech 40k fan series. However, my first Custodian ended up being the Allarus Custodian with Power Axe. Instead of the iconic “banana-head” look, this model represents the Terminator Armor equivalent of the Adeptus Custodes, a tankier version of the Imperium’s most elite protectors.

As with many Joytoy Warhammer 40k figures, the sculpt on the Allarus Custodian is excellent, just as you’d expect. However, don’t expect great playability from this one. Like many of Joytoy’s bulkier figures, it suffers from limited articulation, which makes posing and dynamic display a bit more challenging.

Warhammer 40k Joytoy 1/18 Primarch Jaghatai Khan

Three months after the release of Daemon Primarch Mortarion, JoyToy has unveiled its next 1/18-scale Primarc and it is none other than Jaghatai Khan, the Primarch of the White Scars! Scheduled for an April 2026 release, the JoyToy Primarch Jaghatai Khan will be sold for USD 140 price tag.

Jaghatai Khan is the Primarch of the White Scars, one of the First Founding Space Marine Chapters, known for their Mongolic and East Asian–inspired aesthetic and their mastery of lightning-fast, hit-and-run warfare, often employing bikes and rapid assault vehicles. Among all the Primarchs, Jaghatai stands out as one of the most easy-going and independent, yet he possesses a clear-headed, razor-sharp intuition when it comes to matters that truly matter.

The timing of Jaghatai’s release, coming shortly after Mortarion, feels particularly fitting. The two Primarchs share one of the most memorable rivalries of the Horus Heresy, making their action figures perfect for dramatic re-enactments.

During the climax of the Horus Heresy at the Siege of Terra, Jaghatai Khan faced Mortarion now ascended to a Daemon Primarch in a brutal and legendary duel. Though Jaghatai emerged victorious, he was mortally wounded in the process. After the Heresy ended, Jaghatai vanished into the Webway, his fate and purpose remaining a mystery even to his own sons.

With recent developments in Warhammer 40,000 lore, there is growing speculation that Jaghatai Khan could become the third Primarch to return to the 41st Millennium. Whether or not that day comes soon, his arrival in JoyToy’s Primarch line is a welcome one and a must-have for White Scars fans and Primarch collectors alike.

Warhammer 40k Joytoy Space Wolves Killteam Review

This is a short review of my JoyToy Space Wolves collection from a few years ago. I wouldn’t say I’m a big personal fan of Space Wolves Space Marines, but somehow I still ended up collecting a few of them. This was probably because I was quite active in playing Warhammer Tacticus at the time, which motivated me to pick them up.

Overall, the collection is very solid. It features three named Vlka Fenryka Astartes leading the team, supported by two generic Space Wolves battle-brothers. The core of this kill team consists of Ragnar, Arjac, and Bjorn, making it an all-star lineup as far as Space Wolves action figures go especially in melee monsters department which is Space Wolves specialty.

Although Sigyrr Stoneshield has long since left my collection, I still have a Space Wolves Paladin to fill the gap. Hopefully, I’ll be able to redo some photoshoots of the Space Wolves in the future, ideally alongside their gene-father, Leman Russ.

Joytoy 1/18 Mecha Group shot feat Tyrant-01 Review

A short review featuring Group shots for my Joytoy original lineup collection back in 2023. Featuring 1/18 Scale Joytoy Mecha and Soldier Action figure, this one is a Scifi collection theme with 1/18 Tyrant as centrepiece and North-04 as supporting unit.

Not the most synergistic set collection but still works out nonetheless. In terms of Playability, Joytoy Mecha is not exactly the best on the category but they surely make up with quantity and gimmicks. Hopefully I could have more time to do more reviews for my Joytoy in my new place considering I do have a dedicated room for my personal collection

Warhammer 40k Joytoy 1/18 Abaddon the Despoiler

More than a year after Warmaster Horus descended in physical form, his successor Ezekyle Abaddon now follows in full glory as Abaddon the Despoiler, Black Legion Warmaster! This is a truly major release for the Chaos faction, which has already been well-served by JoyToy in 2025. Scheduled for January 2026, the JoyToy 1/18 Abaddon the Despoiler will retail for $140 USD.

When Primarch Horus was released, Abaddon also appeared in his Horus Heresy getup for $75 USD. That version still used the Luna Wolves Mournival loadout, which hadn’t fully embraced the Chaos aesthetic. Now, for a $50 price difference, 40K fans can finally get the iconic Abaddon, leading the Chaos warband to lay waste to the Imperium with his signature weapons: Demon Sword Drach’nyen and Talon of Horus.

Honestly, if I hadn’t given up on Warhammer Tacticus, I would seriously consider adding this version of Abaddon to my collection. even though I don’t usually collect Chaos. I have a long history with this character, who’s often joked about as the “armless failure” of 40K fandom. Throughout my Tacticus journey, Abaddon consistently spooked my gacha pulls, leaving a memorable impression. He’s been with me through thick and thin, from his flawed kit to the upgrades he finally earned.

All things considered, this is easily one of the must-have 40K action figures for any hardcore fan. A Chaos Space Marine army is simply incomplete without their mortal champion and Warmaster of the Black Legion.

Joytoy 1/25 APOC series Storm Lucis Fire

Joytoy return with their kickass Titanfall Mecha original timeline once again! As part of APOC series this batch features 5 mecha variants in one go! Out of this batch the one that caught my attention is Lucis fire and Iron Vanguard. Scheduled for January 2026 release, Joytoy 1/25 APOC Lucis fire will be sold for 60 USD Price tag.

As usual the 5 new lineups are quite solid with a mixed range of generous assorted armaments given by Joytoy. Truly without the constraint of licensing cost, Joytoy afford to give more assorted goodies. Compared to the past Joytoy Titanfall mecha, this one seems to have more simplistic cockpit gimmick but the sculpt result can be considered superb. Iron Vanguard and Lucis Fire caught my attention because they seem to be the only one who possess staying power with some shield.

However upon closer look Sky Striker which is sniper type mecha also looks good since it got assorted choices of ranged weapons and unique kukri apart from its main Sniper rifle armament and it is the only variant out of the 5 APOCs that got distinct head design. Joytoy 1/25 Titanfall series is one my favorite lineup of this company and I might already have a dozen by this time. Looking forward for these new APOCs to join my collection.

Warhammer 40k Joytoy 1/18 Daemon Primarch Mortarion

 
 Joytoy's output for Warhammer 40k in 2025 are not as frequent as it used to be but it doesn't mean they are pulling they are punches! After Pre-Heresy Magnus and Daemon Prince Angron, the Primarch of Death Guard makes it in his Daemon Primarch form! Scheduled for February 2026, Joytoy Daemon Primarch Mortarion will be sold for 200 USD.

Among the Daemon Primarchs, Mortarion's lot is similar to Magnus being unwilling servant of Chaos, representing Nurgle, Chaos God of Pestillence and Decay. While he had resentment toward Emperor of Mankind, he fell to chaos due to Nurgle exploiting his despair and in the attempt to save Death Guard from Chaos corruption, he became the Daemon Primarch representing Nurgle. In 40k settings Mortarion fought a mortal combat with his brother primarch twice. Once with Jaghatai of White Scars during siege of Terra and another bout with Guilliman after his resurrection.

While not as large as Angron, Mortarion in his Daemon Primarch form is certainly a sight to behold with! The sculpt quality of Joytoy is superb as usual, perfectly depicting the Primarch of Death Guard as harbinger of corruption and decay. For the action figure of Mortarion size, Joytoy also include a robust stand base for Mortarion to be put on flying pose, perfectly reminding of my nightmare with him as raid boss in Tacticus.

With Mortarion release, I think we could see more Death Guard to be released in the future particularly Typhus, the champion of Nurgle. With Mortarion release, all left from the main Daemon Primarch to be released is Fulgrim which I will look forward to collect his pre-heresy form. 

Warhammer 40k Joytoy 1/18 Adeptus Sororitas Group Shot

 
Bringing some Groupshots for my Joytoy Warhammer 40k for today's review! This time features Adeptus Sororitas which I did collect some of them when Joytoy was still very active in making varieties of them. In the end I got myself one sororitas from 3 Battle Sisters order, Bloody Rose, Our Martyred Lady and Argent Shroud. Personally I am not really into Sororitas myself but I did appreciate their representation for Imperium Faction to get a copy of joytoy for them.

While Joytoy 1/18 scale Space Marine and Mecha sculpt are pretty good, their sculpt quality for female faces still need some major improvement. Though this minor flaw can still be fixed with some retouch or filter camera. I owned a copy of Saint Celestine and still  look forward to the opportunity to crack open her and geminae for Review. While the photoshots in this review wasn't as many, I am quite still surprised with the overall quality.

Warhammer 40k Joytoy 1/18 Sanguinor

Warhammer 40k might be slowing down in pace this year but Blood Angels factions are still eating good in 2025! The First Founding Loyalist Space Marine Chapter that are most troubled in struggle with their inner demons now get another fabulous Golden BOI! After Sanguinius and Lord Dante, we got ourself Sanguinor! Scheduled for November 2025 release, Joytoy 1/18 Sanguinor will be sold for 77 USD Price tag.

Sanguinor in Warhammer 40k is a mysterious figure clad in armor of Sanguinary guard who is the object of reverence among Blood Angels. He assist Blood Angels in their direst time and even fought with Kabandha, the famed Bloodthirster who dueled against Primarch Sanguinius in a mortal combat.

As expected for the price tag, Joytoy Sanguinor seems to be promising. The cumbersome wing parts from the older Sanguinary guard is partially fixed. But if the wing parts are not removable, Sanguinor will still likely require stand base to be posed. Joytoy Sanguinor definitely a great addition for the Golden Bois of Blood Angels and would look great along with Lord Dante and his Guard. I will look forward if Joytoy will have something more in store for Blood Angels.
