Kurogane no Linebarrel (manga)
I’m finally settling another long-standing reading debt by rereading the complete run of Kurogane no Linebarrels in one go. Linebarrels was one of the mecha manga I followed during my college years, but I never picked it back up after losing track of the serialization. The series eventually concluded at 25 volumes, and this reread was my first time experiencing the story in its entirety.

Q3 2025 Loot
A compilation of loot I gained over past 2-3 months, surprisingly this one is dominated by Model kits, especially Kotobukiya. While the size took quite a room, in terms of overall value it is actually falling on the more affordable side compared to other loots this year. Considering you can get 2-4 model kits of comparable size for a price of the single Japanese diecast toy.

Kurogane no Linebarrel Kotobukiya 1/144 Linebarrel Overdrive
After laying dormant for more than a decade, Kotobukiya finally decided to revive their Linebarrel model kit lineup. Most likely in limited fashion, Linebarrel Overdrive and Vardant got their 1/144 Scale Model Kit re-release. Scheduled for May 2025, These 2 iconic Machinas will be sold for 5800 and 5500 Yen which doesn't differ much from its old price.
If Kotobukiya made Linebarrel Overdrive and Vardant in the present, they could have costed above 7000 Yen so we got to be thankful that Koto decided to release them in reasonable price. I used to have 1/144 Vardant before and these Model Kit required some repaint to actually look good. Nevertheless the end result of these two Machinas will look as good as Bandai's as long as the proper work are being put in.
Since the featured mech in this post is Linebarrel Overdrive, might as well put some tidbits about this guy. Linebarrel Overdrive is the upgraded version of Linebarrel after Koichi went angsty enough and it is equipped with some kind contraption on its right hand which capable shooting powerful energy blasts or turn into massive energy Blade which is unfortunately not included in the Kotobukiya version. Regardless, any Linebarrel fans should consider getting this one because it is one of those very rare Re-releases from Kotobukiya. Probably I am going to do some rereading marathon for Kurogane no Linebarrel as well

Kurogane no Linebarrel RIOBOT EX Linebarrel
I think it has been more than a decade since we got something from Kurogane no Linebarrel series and Sentinel planning to release one heavy duty stuff for one of the better modern mecha series. There have been plenty iterations of Linebarrel before but Sentinel goes big and released the Heavy Armor variant of Linebarrel dubbed EX Linebarrel. Scheduled for May 2023 release, Riobot EX Linebarrel is going to be sold for whopping 50000 Yen which is as expensive as Sol Gravion.
I didn't noticed this version of Linebarrel except that it is apparently the Ultimate Version of Linebarrel exceeding Linebarrel Overdrive. From Its Aesthetics, Linebarrel EX is a heavy melee unit equipped with tons of Blades to the point of overkill and Vardant still have better extent of agility compared to this version of Linebarrel. As expected from Sentinel, Riobot EX Linebarrel is unreachable for regular collector yet again. It is highly likely that GSC will release some moderoid for this series at some point but i personally prefer if they can make some action figure for this underrated Mecha series.

Kurogane no Linebarrel Variable Action Vardant Review
Friday, July 13, 2012
Some stuffs arrived for July
Hmm in this month i think i managed to hoard pretty rare stuff compared to my past loots. I managed to get Vardant Toy by Megahouse and Armor Plus Tekkaman Rapier from Mandarake relatively cheap. Last time i also saw another spare Vardant and Brave Gohkin Linebarrel which is only 3500 yen though probably they are gone already. I also got Gespenst Mk-II and LBX Odin from Amiami which makes my backlog doesn't get any better though i will probably able to build the LBX relatively fast. If you are looking for Japanese hobby rare stuff, check Mandarake first before deciding to find it elsewhere

Plamo loot for this month
Here are the recent kits that i get from HLJ. Initially i thought that i would stop buying kits for a while since i spent too much for Huckebein Boxer already but the deals of HLJ from the Kotobukiya sale is too hard to resist. As the result i got my self Linebarrel Kizaki ver and Wildraubtier. I also get MG Ingram 1 which will complete my Patlabor Collection. Unfortunately i won't be making any of these for a while except the Ingram since currently i am having winter in my place which is hard to get a chance for painting outside.

1/144 Apparition Review

Finished this kit Last Friday, pretty good mecha from Linebarrel indeed, even though i don't really know any details about this mecha since it has not appeared yet in the translated manga, from what i know the pilot is supposedly dead Main Character's best friend.
For the mecha based from what it looks it is like a Sniper mecha with some capability of telekinesis based from the design, the only weapon that i can see from this mecha is its sniper rifle.
