Fate/Grand Order Figma 381 Lancer Scathach Review

The Warrior Queen has comes forth from the Land of Shadows!

 It has been exactly two months since i got Skadi in FGO NA and as a part of celebration, I decided to make a review for my copy of Figma Scathach which has been neglected for almost two years. Initially the review supposed to be done on the exact date last month, but procrastination got me quite badly at the time. For a FGO series Figma, Scathach is easily one of the worse ones since it had difficulties to stand upright properly, but none of those matters when the character is your favorite servant.

Fate Grand Order does not have any shortage in top tier Waifu Servants which i had several of the most highly sought ones, however Lancer Shishou will always have a special place in my heart. The first SSR that players get in FGO tend to leave a lasting impression and mine happen to be Scathach. To top it off, Shishou is willing to grace my Chaldea just with a single 10-roll while others may spent hundreds but still got none. Fate Grand Order no doubt had one of the worst SSR rates, but the thrill of winning like this instance is what makes this game had strong loyal playerbase.

 Scathach is the first SSR Lancer in FGO game and story-wise she is one of the more powerful being that could give Gilgamesh a run for his money. Ruling over the undeads in the Land of Shadow, Scathach is equally powerful at Rune Magic and Martial Prowess whom the legendary Irish Hero Cu Chulainn trained under.

 In terms of personality Scathach gives off rather cold and detached personality, interested only in finding a warrior powerful enough to kill her. However it was Scathach's potential in maternal quality which is her strongest selling point as a waifu is what wins the heart of the fans, one could imagine how much money that Whales spent for her. During her debut, Scathach is a Solid Anti-Divine Unit with Powerful Single Target NP. However her kit get less reliable as break bars are introduced and by the time of Skadi Meta, she can't even make full use of the system potential.

 Nevertheless Scathach still remains one of the most popular Female servants in FGO partly owed to Skadi and she happens to have plenty of doujins too and some of them are Top Tier too. One could hope that Shishou get her deserved Strengthening Quest and her own event quest someday.

GAE BOLG ALTERNATIVE!

 For a Figma, Scathach is one of the worse ones due to articulation issue and difficulty to stand properly. For a Figma of a fighter character, Shoulder and Thigh articulation are lackluster which is difficult to make dynamic pose for Scathach. I think Figma Scathach has difficulty to stand properly due to combination of the hair weight and the shoes design. In any case the sculpt is still superb as expected for FGO Figma.

 Figma Lancer Cu obviously complements well with Scathach as perfect duo with the contrast of body suit as well as a spare Gae Bolg for Shishou's dual spear setup. While Figma Scathach articulation is quite horrible, Lancer Cu is actually one of the best FGO Figma out there when it comes to articulation. I had taken shots Figma Lancer Cu a year ago but it was not up to my standard so there are plans for a retake which i will leave the Dynamic Pose for the Lancer Duos by that time.

Re-enacting the legendary scene from Fate series

  Regardless the flaw that Figma Scathach had, it served its purpose well as the pairing for Figma Ritsuka. Our EX-Rank Harem Protagonist probably had a good shot of making Scathach fall for him with his personal quality. Scathach admires a man who had a potential to be an excellent warrior, equally talented in strength and intellect. While Ritsuka haven't reached his potential for those qualities yet, his courage definitely passes in flying color for Scathach and i think his LB6 version is already good enough to seduce the Warrior Queen.

 Despite the flaw that Figma Scathach comes with, it is still a worthy purchase for me since it still serve its purpose well enough and you will easily accept the flaw if you are a fan of Shishou. I think Assassin Scathach and Skadi had a good chance for Figma treatment due to the character popularity, if it was not for the COVID we could possibly get some teaser already. All in all I am still open for another merchandise for the beloved Lancer Shishou.
