Taito Rider of Black Astolfo Prize Vol 2 Figure Review

A short review for one of the Fate Prize figure made by Taito. Fate is no doubt a very big series in Japan that warrants some manufacturers like Banpresto, Taito and Sega made affordable Prize figure for the series. Out of the Three company, Taito's price range happen to fall on cheaper spectrum but overall quality wise it is quite passable. One of the Prize figure that i own from Taito is the trap servant from Fate/Apocrypha, Astolfo. Being one of Charlemagne's Twelve Paladins, Astolfo depiction in Fate as a crossdressing Pink haired knight doesn't sit quite well with me. Regardless i suppose there are demand for such niche in Fate series.

Surprisingly for male character, Astolfo is quite Smooth down there.
In Fate/Apocrypha Astolfo is summoned as the Rider class servant for Black Faction and stats-wise he is one of the weaker servant who will get absolutely murdered by Achilles in a straight fight. Throughout the series, Astolfo helps a homonculus named Sieg to survive out of his knightly obligation and eventually serve as his servant. Astolfo eventually emerged as the only surviving servant in the Fate/Apocrypha Holy Grail War because the summoned strong servants are basically killing each other on that one.

This version of Astolfo figure is the second one made by Taito, which the first one was coming around with Jack and Mordred. For such a trap character i still didn't really get why Astolfo had many figurines made for him because he is not exactly popular character on the tier of Artoria or Jalter but still get generous amount of support. Nevertheless the sculpt quality of this figure for its price is quite good considering i obtained this figure for 1300 Yen only.

Taito or Banpresto is a good start for collecting Fate Series if you are looking for budget option. Last year Taito did release a good amount of variations for Fate series though it has rather slow start for this year. In the next opportunity i will do review for some ichiban Kuji prize figure from Fate series.
