4th Year with Fate/Grand Order

 Surviving another year with this Gacha Hell game yet again but my burnout toward Fate/Grand Order quite took its toll this time. Of all Gacha game that i have played, no doubt Fate/Grand Order that sticks with me the longest surviving 3 phone changes. But overall my 4th year with FGO is a downhill race that started promising but went downhill by the mid of the year. Despite my severe burn from this year's misfortune, I think i still have the drive to stick around FGO at least until LB6 which featured alternate version of Camelot.

 If 2020 was a tough year for FGO JP, 2021 is even tougher for them as their quality contents are coming out even less while other major Gacha games like Genshin and Uma Musume posed a major threat by securing themselves a sizable portion of Gacha market that was once dominated by FGO. Even Arknights from last year managed to stay lean and keep releasing contents at consistent pace which barely have dead weeks compared to FGO.

 Along with 2020, FGO 4th year actually still considered to be FGO's peak performance until it went downhill for the next 2 years. But i definitely find FGO NA content in 2021 is no doubt weaker compared to last year. Throughout this year there are only 3 events that i find enjoyable which are Saber Wars 2, Gudaguda with Ooku reigns as the best event. Surprisingly i didn't even enjoy Summer 4 event probably because Saber Oei who acted like Loudmouthed Bimbo gets too much screentime.

 For 2021 i had a great start with my first SSR of the year started with Nero Caster that i got baited and wasted so much SQ for her Summer 2 Banner rerun. Then things was going relatively smoothly according to my plan until Reines banner which proceeds to be a suffering train from that point onward. 

 By the time i wrote this article ,i managed to acquire 12 SSRs including most of my planned target for 2021 banners and my total haul amounts to the same number with 2020. With the addition of this year's SSR Servant acquisitions, my roster increased from 26 to 38 SSRs with quite good amount of Limited SSRs and well rounded one at that save for Berserker and Rider class. Out of this year's new SSR addition, Kama assassin is definitely the best one, never expected her character design is really that good even if you ignore the fanservice part.

 However this year's FGO Gacha experience leave a bad aftertaste to me because after Reines banner, i had to resort spending 80$ pack four times and combined with single 80$ pack i spent on Kama banner, i have spent $400 for FGO this year which accounts to more than half of my lifetime spending for this game. My main gripe is that you don't really get that much value from spending this kind of amount of money with FGO. This marks the end for me spending for FGO outside GSSR as other gacha game will provide better value for equivalent amount. For instance with Arknights, probably i have spent around 200$ over the span of 18 months and the value they offer for that money is way even better and had longer lasting effect.

 Personally i made two blunders throughout this year with FGO, first is the Godjuna banner which i wasted too much SQ at the wrong timing. Then I got baited in Oniland rerun banner which wasted 180 SQ without SSRs despite i don't really even want Sitonai and that blunders snowballs through Saber Wars 2 as i rolled impulsively for Space Ishtar to make up my loss. But the most severe burn in 2021 is from the recent Proto Saber banner which i wasted 450 SQ on one of the worst SSR servants. But what makes the Proto Saber banner to be my worst experience yet is that 120 SQ i desperately farmed from Servant Bonds fails me and in the end i resorted to buy 80$ SQ pack which make me end up really despise Proto Saber and probably use him as Chen Gong's missile quite often.

 Despite long time grievances by the playerbase, Delightworks still decided to maintain their hubris by treating the players that are willing to spend like garbage. However DW definitely will not get away with this crap for long as the early demise of Sakura Revolution is already a warning sign for them though they probably remain oblivious until its too late.

 Regardless of my horrible Gacha experience with FGO in 2021, I had reached another significant mileage yet again. Firstly i finally got Full bond CE SSR Waifu Support team which is major satisfaction for me though i still put Skadi and Reines Bond/QP CE to help other players. I also had progress to secure full bond CE for Fate/Stay Night and Summer servant team as well which i expect should be done by mid of next year.

 As for the 5th year of FGO, it marks the decline of the game with lesser contents and support from DW which i really doubt they are able to make any significant comeback with their current structure. As such, i only have 2 or 3 Main target servant for 2022 which are God Romulus, Castoria and Odysseus. Though i am willing to sacrifice Odysseus for better shot for Romulus Quirinus since he is one of the badass looking Male servants.

My 4th year with FGO really taxes me emotionally and thus there is only a single advice i can recommend for this game; Never attempt to brute force the gacha roll in this game because the atrocious 1% rate is good enough to make your attempts ends up with garbage.
