It is already about a month since Mecharashi made it to Global server. I never expected what started from a game project abandoned by Square Enix able to survive for two years in China long enough to transition into global stage. As somebody who constantly look for a mecha game to fill in the void of Final Gear and Super Mecha Champion, I find Mecharashi global server announcement to be compelling and pre-registered in no time.
After playing for several weeks in Global server, my initial impression with Mecharashi is overall quite a positive one. In terms of baseline design, Mecharashi is rather similar to Girls Frontline 2 whether gameplay or gacha but with mecha flavor. Overall Mecharashi is a solid mecha game albeit still thoroughly have Chinese gacha game design at its core.
When it comes to the fundamental of Mecha game, Mecharashi had a good start and its initial content will remain relevant for at least 6-12 months. As long as Mecharashi kept innovating itself, It has the potential to have longer lifespan compared to its predecessors that already closed their service. Seriously the production quality of Mecharashi is quite impressive that it cannot be considered as mere clone of Front Mission anymore and showcase that Japan no longer able to monopolize Mecha for themselves
One thing that I am pleased with Mecharashi is its color scheme customization which is surprisingly generous for F2P players and I checked the mecha selections for Mecharashi is very impressive. This game is pretty much the amalgamation of Japanese popular Real Robot mecha design rolled into a single unifying series. Apart from Front Mission, you will notice plenty of influence from series like Armored Core, Assault Gunner, Full Metal Panic, Code Geass and many others, Mecharashi at least will not be inferior in the mecha department and it is up to the dev management to keep this game flourish.
In near future we will be getting Evangelion as crossover project and can expect Mecharashi to last with 2 years worth of content. I will also pay closer attention to Mecharashi collectibles.
