SD Gundam Cross Silhouette First Impression

Should have posted this shortly after my Gunpla Expo Post but anyway here is the promised brief overview of New Lineup for SD Gundam, Cross Silhouette! I think Bandai tried to Step up the SD lineup by giving it some kind of Inner frame treatment like what HG got with RG. This time i got to sample 3 Model Kits from the initial release of the line up.

SDCS Lineup offers new proportion with its inner frame system. The Default Model Kit comes with the small Inner frame that gives the same proportion to the newer SD Gundam. However there is a taller inner frame for the lineup that is sold separately and it is the major Selling Point of this new lineup. The Taller frame gives a somewhat taller proportion for the SD Gundam and apparently it tried to match with the new G-Generation proportion though this SD Proportion can be traced back to a PS2 Gundam Game called MS Saga which is an interesting if difficult Gundam Game. With the new frame it is easier to customize SD Gundam as you can switch body parts easier with the new frame just like what you can do with MS Saga.

Here are some of the comparison SDCS Model Kit with the Different 2 Frames. The new SDCS Frame just look gorgeous but still just like other SD Gundam Kits, Considerable amount of Paint Job needed to make the Model Kit looks good especially the Crossbone X1. Out of the three Models, i find Nightingale to be the most impressive looking one since it is Bulky yet cool.

With the new Frame, SDCS allows better articulation to a new level for SD Gundam. Not that impressive but a good improvement already for this Size. I fiddled around RX-78-2 on what the Frame able to pull off, as long as the model kit is not as bulky as Nightingale, it is capable of great range of movement.

Even with the great improvement that SDCS brings to SD Gundam lineup, i really doubt i will get my hands on them since Candy Toys are my Go-To option for SD Proportion, but i think the potential of this lineup is even greater than EX-Standard as long as Bandai doesn't cut their support early for SDCS.
