The Fable: Second Contact

Being one of the popular manga in late 2010s, the Crime Thriller manga series The Fable actually got another sequel couple years ago called Fable: The Second Contact. Recently the fan translation of the series has finished which make me proceed to marathon the series. While not as lengthy as the first Fable series as this sequel only run up to 9 Tankobon volumes, The Fable Second Contact does not disappoint in narrating the adventure of a Pro Assassin in Japan.

Taking place shortly after the first series concluded, the main protagonist who had the secret identity of one of the Top Assassin in Underworld simply known Fable got his brief period of peaceful life and use it to settle down. However, the peace that he deserved does not last long as there are group of assassins making use of the tensions in surrounding Crime group and try to hunt The Fable down, making a name for themselves by killing one of the best hitman in the profession.

If Fable first series feature all sorts of Underworld encounter, The Second Contact features more intense Assassin vs Assassin PVP fight featuring more persistent and skilled group of Pro Assassin as the main opponents. Through this new scenario that Second Contact offer, the reader gets a glimpse the sorts of organized manhunt in the underworld by Pros looks like. As usual the mangaka pulled out a well-made scenario to show how the Main protagonist overcome all of the insane odds pitted toward him showing that the Fable is still at the top of the game.

Considering the Fable series remain popular, there is a 3rd series for the Manga that is currently running which I will look forward to when it reaches somewhere.
