As part of Eureka Seven’s 20th Anniversary, Bandai has decided to release a Metal Build version of the series’ iconic skysurfing mecha: Nirvash Type Zero! Naturally, such a rare collectible is being offered as a P-Bandai exclusive, but it promises the most faithful rendition yet of Kawamori’s legendary design. Scheduled for August 2026, the Metal Build Nirvash Type Zero will retail for 36,000 Yen.
I haven’t watched Eureka Seven in over a decade, but the series left a lasting impression. It was a breakthrough mecha anime from Bones Studio, combining a coming-of-age story with a classic “boy meets girl” dynamic. Its idealistic tone and imaginative world make it hard to overlook, and I still have fond memories of seeing the series’ mecha appear in ACE 3 and Super Robot Wars Z1—moments that felt truly phenomenal at the time.
No doubt, the Metal Build Nirvash lives up to its top-tier reputation. It even includes a car transformation mode, which remains a huge curiosity for me—how does that even work? Perhaps one of these days I’ll revisit Eureka Seven along with its spin-offs, even though none of them quite capture the same magic as the original series.
