Fate/Grand Order Babylonia EXQ Medusa Lily Review
The Purple haired girl sets on her solitary journey
One of the Prize Figure that Banpresto able to make from FGO Babylon series which i got since EXQ is my preferred mainstay lineup for FGO Prize Figures. As per usual rules, the less popular character tend to be given the slot for Prize Figure so that the demand for Premium PVC figure still exist with the help of the more popular character. I thought Banpresto could have made more FGO Babylon EXQ figure considering they reserved 2 EXQs for Last Encore, but it was only Medusa Lily considering the FGO merchandise are spread rather evenly across Bandai subsidiaries this time.
Medusa Lily is the younger version of Rider Medusa when her physique still closely resemble with her older sisters. She made appearance in Babylon singularity as mysterious servant who accompany Merlin and encounter Ritsuka quite early in the arc when the latter being misdirected by Kingu. Just like other lily servants, Medusa is not particularly powerful in this form but she still contribute decently in the battle with her Anti-Divine Scythe.
Initially Medusa Lily acts rather distrustful toward human due to her past experience as dreaded Gorgon and the current burden she bears in Babylon Singularity. But her interaction with Ritsuka and Uruk citizen helps her to regain some faith toward humanity and hardens her resolve to fulfill her destiny. In the end Medusa Lily sacrificed herself to help Ritsuka's Party taking down Avenger Gorgon who posed as one of the Babylon Singularity main threat. During Tiamat's invasion on Uruk, Medusa Lily managed to make brief once again in Gorgon's body facing Tiamat head-on to buy Ritsuka time to stop Tiamat's advance, sacrificing herself in the process without any regret.
As SR Lancer servant, Medusa Lily kit is rather lacking for Single Target Lancer, easily overshadowed by even SR AOE Lancer such as Lalter or Parvati. However people who roll for Ereshkigal Banner should likely have Medusa Lily since she spooks alot during that Banner which i also happen to be where i got my copy from.
As usual Banpresto EXQ is decent lineup for budget FGO figure. Ichiban Kuji might have Medusa Lily and Ereshkigal for FGO Babylon but the quality is not any better for something that cost three times as expensive so i still stick with EXQ for this one. If i have to point out the flaw for EXQ Medusa Lily, for some reason the face skin tone is paler than the body which is rather inconsistent for Banpresto.
I think it is probably planned by Banpresto but EXQ Medusa Rider is one the main reason i buy EXQ Medusa Lily, she complements really well with EXQ Medusa Rider which is part of Banpresto release for Heaven's Feel Movie.
I think Banpresto could have done more for FGO series in their Prize Figure but it is probably due to Type Moon strategy to license the character piecemeal to keep their franchise merchandise stay lucrative. I just hope Banpresto could make more than one EXQ out of Camelot Movie.
