FW Gundam Converge EX22 - MRX-010 Psyco Gundam Mk II Review

The menace of Mobile Armor comes in bite size!

As i migrate to Gundam Ensemble as my mainstay Gundam Candy Toys, my collection for Converge series barely saw any new addition anymore. However i still didn't abandon the series completely as i still collect the EX series from time to time. I think Converge is still the better way for Bandai to bring out the Big Guns such as Mobile Armor in Candy Toys format as the Ensemble are too pricy which the AOZ Mobile Armors served as prime example. While I start late collecting the EX series, i still managed to nab Psyco Gundam Mk-II for quite a good price and this one happen my first MA Converge.

Psyco Gundam Mk-II Mobile Armor created by Titans serving as the successor of Psyco Gundam. Just like its predecessor it is a very powerful machine that is capable of unleashing mass destructions upon enemies but require Newtype as a pilot as Oldtypes are unable to withstand the taxing mental strain of this massive weapon. During Late Gryps War, Titans use Cyber Newtypes Rosamia Badam as the pilot of Psyco Gundam MkII but AEUG Ace Pilot Kamille Bidan put a stop to this Mobile Armor before it has opportunity to lay waste AEUG forces.

Later on Neo Zeon retrieved the wreckage of Psyco MkII and repair it for their own use. The Mobile Armor prove to be effective during the Battle of Dublin as it wreak havoc unopposed until Another AEUG Ace Pilot and Kamille's successor, Judau Ashta thwarted the behemoth for good this time.

As the successor of Psyco Gundam, MkII are equipped with enough weapons to lay waste upon enemy Mobile suits and it also comes with additional tricks in its sleeve. MkII are capable to detach its Mega Particle Cannon arms serving as Incoms. Complemented with the Reflector Bit that increase the range and accuracy, MkII Particle Cannon proves to be a very deadly weapon. A Regular Grunt Pilot will unlikely survive the encounter with this Mobile Armor when it got such weapon.

Then for extra kicks, MkII comes with Beam Saber on its hand to improve its melee capability should a Mobile Suit happen to make it to this range. P-Bandai provide an option for additional add-ons which include the beam saber which i skipped since it would cost me more than the Psyco Mk II itself.

I think the origin of Alternate naming of Psyco Gundam. "Psycho" comes from its transformation capability. For a massive hulking machine able to transform in Atmospheric environment is quite a feat itself. I think it would be a terrifying sight for a MS Pilot to have a mysterious large object that transforms into Mobile Armor as the thing they see in their last moment. Which is why Psycho suits quite well for this MA's alternate name.

I think the main reason i don't mind getting EX series is that they still able to complement Gundam Ensemble Quite well and here are some shots i took with Ensemble Gundam Mk-II and Hyaku Shiki. Though MkI would suit better for the encounter moment

I think i quite like Psyco Gundam Mk-II among the Mobile Armor as it strike the best balance of Psyco series considering Mk-I still lacks in armaments to make it a menacing presence while Mk-III lost its transformation ability which reduce the gimmick. There was a larger option for Psyco Gundam Mk-II which comes in Gundam Fix Figuration format though i would prefer to reserve that money for next Gundam Converge battleship.
