I think this is one my most active month over past few years so far and I am still able to hold to my own promise for Final Gear Mechatalk series. For the 4th Final Gear Article I will be covering for Nia, A Sniper Pilot belongs to Hexel Faction who also happens to be one of the close confidants of Hexel's Faction leader herself.
Nia is a mysterious Child picked up by Hexel Faction's Noctris from one of those area scarred by war and soon developed a close bond with the Witch Nation's leader as her foster daughter and unofficially served as Noctris Inner Circle mascot. Due to the mysterious tentacle appendages that grow out of her head, she secluded herself in Noctris Room most of the time as her outside ventures contribute to urban horror legend in Hexel. Nevertheless Nia will show her cheerful childlike behavior to people she opened up to like Noctris and Captain.
In Final Gear, Nia is one of the available Starter Sniper Class SSR Pilot piloting one of the strangest Starter unit, Nematode Outsider which looks like mummified Alien Creature with Tentacle Dreadlock. Personally Nia's Custom unit is probably one of the uglier Unique mech, but she makes up for it with her utility.
After covering Kegha background in Eloise article, I will use the opportunity in Nia's Mechatalk to talk briefly about Hexel. Out of the Three Main factions in Final Gear, Hexel is the weakest faction in terms of manpower which it make up with their advanced techologies that is only limited with their resources. In terms of political structure, Hexel is run by Oligarchic groups called "Families" with a Group of powerful female figures dubbed "Witches" with Noctris as the leader calling the shots. This faction use Leadrain series as their workhorse mechs against Arita and Kegha but they also have the Dark Night series made by Chaos Witch Chilino as the core of their Elite units.
Being Noctris foster daughter, Nia is familiar with her inner circle members which consist of around 6 members bearing the Witch Title. One thing for sure, Nia is very loyal toward Noctris being indebted to have her life saved. If Final Gear still had continued to get new Assets , I am quite sure that the Non SSR Witch members like Mama, Bathory and Chilino could have gotten their own Unique Mech at some point.
In terms of Gameplay, Nia does not perform too well for PVE content due to her low DPS hit but in PVP scene she is one of the best available support unit should she get the proper resources to raise her. So far Nia is the only Unit that can stun other unit effectively with regular attacks that can hit multiple units due to Sniper units piercing attack nature. This is a big asset for PVP fights because every second matters when you face haymaker Natural UR units like Zero and Ruby who can make a short work of anyone should they left to their own devices.
Nia also happens to obtain her UR Upgrade which makes Sumora the only one among the Starter SSR who have no UR version. Nia's UR Kit is not particulalrly flashy but it will make her Crit damage hits harder which had shown some effects in PVP against lower defense Units like the ranged classes.
Personally the reason why I pick Nia over other upgraded units that I possess in my Armory is because I managed to raise her into UR early this month and given that I haven't seen no active players in PVP utilize this lass, might as well give the opportunity of Highlight to her. As for next week's Final Gear Mechatalk. I would either make article for Evelyn or one of the Arita's ace pilots.
