Konosuba: Love for these Clothes of Desire

 It has been several years since I wrote articles for my Konosuba VN playthrough on Vita. Surprisingly to this day these posts remain to be popular for Realm of Darkness visitors. I have been disconnected with Konosuba series for quite some time considering the series are not exactly active on animation scene for a while. And it is only until my recent trip that the opportunity for me to reconnect with Konosuba series present itself in the form of the Video game sequels. Among Konosuba games that I acquired in Japan, the one that will be featured in this post is the 2nd Konosuba VN Game which is the sequel of the Vita VN dubbed "Love for these Clothes of Desire" which I was able to secure a Nintendo Switch copy. This post will serve as primer for those who planned to play this VN in near future and provide some general guiding informations on what to expect from this particular Konosuba game. I will try to make this one Spoiler-free as much as possible and lastly don't expect Character Ending CGs on this one.

 Taking place sometime around Konosuba 2nd Season anime, Love for these Clothes of Desire is an arc in Konosuba Story where Kazuma's party encountered yet another troublesome magic artifact in the form of mysterious black Stone Tablet. This magical artifact is capable of creating wonderful clothes depending on the wielder's imagination when suitable materials are gathered. However Kazuma's party got into trouble with some powerful Noble after finding the artifact and in order to avoid capital punishments and banished from Axel City. Just like many of their previous misadventures, you can expect another hilarious fantasy experience from Kazuma's party encounter with this artifact in this Konosuba game.

In essence, this Konosuba: Love for these Clothes of Desire allow players the opportunities to do Dress up Darling on their favorite Konosuba heroines through Kazuma's actions and this game provide 7 Heroines to go with Sena being the newest addition.

 Spread across 4 Chapters, the core gameplay of Konosuba: Love for these Clothes of Desire is drafting efficient schedule plans for Kazuma's party to gather required materials needed to craft Outifits requested by the Noble within set Deadline in order to progress to each story. The story will progress to the next chapter once 2 Key Clothes are being made and failure to complete them within deadline will result in game over.

Drafted in 5 Days period adventure cycle format, The resources required to craft the outfit are gathered either through Part-Time jobs which can be done individually or embark on Slaying or Gathering Quests which will require full participation of Kazuma's party members. Some of the Part-Time jobs that drops high level mats are needed to be unlocked through crafting certain outfits.

 The amount of the materials dropped from Kazuma's party errands are randomized but also depend on their success level for their particular endeavour. For the Part-Time jobs, Kazuma, Aqua, Megumin and Darkness have their own affinity level which affect the likelihoods for success where as Quest type errands will require 2-3 days at least for the optimal results.

 When Kazuma's party finished their errands, by the end of the cycle the player will be offered options to visit Wiz's shop which sell mats if the gathered materials for outfit crafting are still insufficient. However the main purpose of this shop is to buy the Key Items related to specific clothes which are mandatory in order to unlock the Heroines ending which will be available to purchase by 2nd Chapter. Thus players need to be conscious on spending Eris for mats as those Key items are not cheap. The Key items will be changed through each chapters so make sure to obtain the key items for the Heroines that you specifically aim for the ending.

 Once you gathered the required materials, by the end of each adventure cycle you get the opportunity to craft one outfit for the Konosuba Heroines to wear. Keep in mind you still need the Key item to gather the necessary affection points to unlock the specific Heroine routes which also show alternate version of the CG. I will update this section later with more Key clothes that are required for unlocking some of the more crucial Part-time Jobs which had the exclusive access on some resources.

 Considering the main goal of this Konosuba VN is to unlock the Heroine endings in which the outfit crafting feature plays a significant part, It is recommended that the players make good use of the whole period of each 4 chapters until the set deadline. Using the available time to gather materials and craft the necessary clothes as many as possible for the Heroines that you aim for. It will take 3 playthroughs at least to unlock all of the Heroines ending because Aqua/Megumin/Darkness require separate playthroughs to obtain the ending. When you make good use of the allotted timeslot given throughout 4 chapters, you will be able to unlock 2-3 Endings in each playthrough. For my playthrough batches, I go with Aqua/Chris then Darkness/Sena/Wiz then Megumin/Yunyun route as the last one.

 Overall Konosuba: Love for these Clothes of Desire is relatively short VN which particular Heroine route can be obtained within a day. But keep in mind this VN is fully voiced and the dev did also tried to make the gameplay more interesting compared to the first one. As far as Its purpose that this game served, It did pretty good as a Fanservice game that are expected from Konosuba fans. Together with Judgement on this Greedy Game, Love for these Clothes of Desire is well made stopgap measure to patch up the vacuum from Konosuba anime, not to mention the Fanservice that the 2 Konosuba Dungeon Crawling will offer. While getting into these Konosuba VN series requires some knowledge on Japanese, it is still easier to get into compared to more complicated full fledged VN like Fate series and not to mention the localization attempt.

While I will still cover the Heroines ending for this VN, you will need to actually read the VNs yourself to gain the full access on the Heroines Storyline because those segments doesn't allow screenshots and my articles will only effectively cover 60% of the whole experience. Thus worry not that you can still fully support the VN localization even if you got to read the Heroine Ending post of Konosuba: Love for these Clothes of Desire.
