Mechatalk Final Gear: Naomi - HES-I Type-4

  Weekly Final Gear mechatalk is here! Almost done with the preparation for Akarna team Special, but before that we will have some other mecha to fill in the gap for now. For the 22nd Final Gear Mechatalk, representing Hexel National Academy sub-faction we will have the High-school girl Naomi to be featured with her HES-I Type-4 Custom mech! Naomi's mech is one of the few that have transformation gimmick in Final Gear and probably the only one that transforms as Jet Fighter so you can have your fix of Macross/Zeta Gundam in Final Gear!

 Given the scope that Final Gear attempted back in its active days, they bound to have a High School setting at some point just like some other mecha anime which manifested in Hexel National Academy. One might overlook that Final Gear setting had some catastrophic great war background which Hexel National Academy provide some semblance of normal life for the Children. Filled with Children from refugees of many walks of life, Hexel National Academy is a seedbed for talents of the Hexel Nation who might pilot mech and fight for this newly found nation by the Steel Witch Noctris. Among many students enrolling in this academy, We have Naomi as the main protagonist from this particular chapter of Final Gear.

 Resembling Shibuya Rin in appearance, Naomi was one of those typical Teenage schoolgirl until she become very passionate toward Mecha after saved by her Teacher Leilani in her mech during a disaster called Sundering. In the Event Story of Hexel National Academy, Naomi probably have an adventure revolving around one of her classmate, Minazuki who turns out to be an Alien Race who came to visit for observation purpose.

 In Final Gear, Naomi is a SSR Shooter Class who piloted Custom mech made by her Teacher Leilani, HES-I Type-4. Her unit is armed with a pair of SMGs, Assault Rifle and Missiles which the Jet Fighter form unleashed a barrage of them. 

 Being the representative of first and the last arc of Hexel National Academy, Naomi had Stella and Minazuki as her Classmate in which the former greatly admire Naomi just like Solveig. Oblivious with the gesture, Naomi herself is a great admirer of her Teacher, Leilani probably much to the latter's Annoyance. Leilani is probably one of the more important character in Final Gear who is a talented inventor being a classmate of Professor Rinbell in the past whose design philosophies goes for different direction.

 Hexel National Academy is another of those many example of Final Gear's wasted potentials as it is evident that the Devs did have some plans to expand more on this Subfaction with the Academy Director most likely will get Unique mech from get-go.

 When it comes to Combat, Naomi comes with a kit that befits her archetype as Shooter class boasting high crit and accuracy bonus with bonus damage multiplier if reaching certain damage threshold. Compared to older units, Naomi DPS look promising from the get go but due to inherent SSR Units design limitation, don't expect anything particularly flashy.

 Considering there are some noteworthy characters related to Naomi here are some brief information on them. Among these Stella is the one that haven't got any unique mech thus I had her stuck with Source Code mecha series. But we could probably have Leilani created some unique mech for Stella if not for Final Gear doomed state.

 Naomi's Final Gear Mechatalk may be rather short but I decided to give her an opportunity since her Jet Fighter mech shown the potential level that Final Gear series could have if not wasted horribly. By the 2nd month of Final Gear, most of the veteran players that I knew had left the Final Gear already and I myself will probably follow suit eventually once I raised all of the remaining units. But until then Mechatalk Final Gear will keep going and for now lets focus surpassing the 25th milestone mark!
