Mechatalk Final Gear: Dango Kobayashi - Beatdown Brawler

 Final Gear survived another month after the final update and it is time for another Final Gear Mechatalk! The 21st of this Mechatalk series will be given to Dango Kobayashi, A Twintail waifu version of Master Asia who can reduce any mechs into pile of scrap with her fist!  Being one of the starter SSR character, Dango had quite some special treatment in Final Gear. She is probably the only character in the game designed by the veteran Senran Kagura illustrator who is famous for certain quality of his waifu designs. Dango certainly will not disappoint on that department and she had some good potential if not for Final Gear's unfortunate Circumstances.

 A fitting character of her Archetype of  solitary fighter. Dango Kobayashi is a battle freak with enigmatic background who lives to seek the thrill of battles unaligned with any faction. A skilled martial artist, Dango can easily wreck any mech with her punch and kicks and a terror to be seen by any group of Grunt Mechs. Whether it is Delta's Desert Bandits or Army from the 3 Major Factions, Dango will fight them all. When not picking a fight, Dango spent her time playing Fighting Games which probably mean she will get along with Evelyn just fine due to similarity in hobby.

 In Final Gear, Dango is a SSR Light Striker who pilots unit called Beatdown Brawler; a beaten up melee practice mech unit that lost an arm which Dango will just wreck it every start of the fight. However in the activated mode, she will just fight in person which makes her the smallest unit in game. Despite her peculiar fighting setup, any enemy will pay dearly for it should they underestimate Dango Kobayashi.

 Being Unaligned character with minimum background story, Dango's selling point lies mostly in her role in Final Gear Gameplay. She is featured as the Arita recruitment banner for some reason and serve as one of the three Conflict Zone, albeit the most infamous one. To this day, even after update Dango Kobayashi Heroic difficulty Boss Fight remains the hardest despite having the lowest HP as she can ruin your fight by one shotting your main DPS if the dice are stacking against you even if you have fully kitted party. Dango have several stun inflicting moves in her arsenal which then she will follow up with either finishers or deadly short range attack which will easily one shot most unit without troubleshooter Chip. To this day my Ruby get wrecked by her from time to time while Krista and Solar just wait for their inevitable fate.

Lastly Dango Kobayshi probably had the highest count of Units sprite as any skin purchased will have direct cosmetic effect on her, Evelyn and Nova has several skins that grant cosmetic change on unit Sprite, but due to Dango's skin requires no mech repaint, I think she is still probably the one with highest amount.

 In terms of DPS, Dango perform respectable damage back in the early days but just will not cut it in the current meta unlike her Boss counterpart. Nevertheless Dango will perform just fine for the regular PVE content. Considering I haven't got the resources to spare for Dango to reach her SSR upgrade, I was only able to get her DPS Cap at 9 million. But once fully upgraded I think Dango will have no trouble to reach 20-30 DPS Cap and maybe even higher with her UR Upgrade.

 During the Sakura Taisen collab, Dango is one of the beneficiary for the crossover event skin apart from Evelyn. The collab skin gets her to wear Kanna Kirishima's skin from Sakura Taisen 1 albeit sexier with the Gi jacket taken off and part of the pants ripped. Given their similar background as martial artist, Dango probably had some friendly spars with Kanna too during the event story.  

 

 Dango Kobayashi is one of the SSR Unit that got UR Upgrade option at the mid point of the game, The UR Skill grants very high damage bonus multiplier after Dango unleashed her Special Attack. But the biggest selling point of Dango Kobayashi UR kit is her new skin which just shows her selling point of the best waifu specimen in this game. Speaking of her design, with Dango Kobayashi chuuni combination of Eyepatch and Frilly Dress, she can easily pass off as Senran Kagura character considering there is a character who closely resemble her called Yagyu, Heck Dango even able to pose as her long lost sister if the illustrator wills it.

 While I don't have much attachment toward Dango, I would say she is one of the better Eye candy in Final Gear given the talent of her illustrator, Overall I am happy to make an article for her given the not so fond memory in attempting to surpass her boss fight which is not exactly easy thus this post makes a good reminder. Before I am fully prepared for Akarna Team to be ready for the Final Gear Mechatalk series, I will probably write another article 1 or 2 SSR Pilot that left some impression on me which I already have some candidate to think off from each factions.
