All good things must come to an end eventually and Sluban Super Mecha Champions Full Brick model shall end with the Hurricane in SS-Rank Sonic Rocket skin as the final review! At least I am glad to complete this Review series before SMC Server officially closedown thus part of my sendoff contribution for SMC is finished.
I picked Hurricane as the final review candidate for Sluban SMC Brick Model series because it is one of the two SMC Brick Model that came in alternate Skin apart from Ranger with its Safeguard Skin. Hurricane is also probably one of the most ambitious attempt by Sluban for SMC series as its Top Heavy Bipedal design do have its share of challenges for a Physical product. Ultimately Sluban failed to deliver with this one despite it is not their fault as it has difficulty to stand properly without proper base support considering this is probably the most expensive Sluban product from SMC that probably rivalled only by Hotsteel.
Regardless of its glaring flaw, Sluban SMC Hurricane is still a good display piece that comes with Transform gimmick and you will still have fun time constructing this 1000+ block count brick model.
Hurricane is an Air Superiority mecha in SMC and among many SMC mechas is the only one that can transform into a Jet Plane just like a Macross Valkyrie Fighter. There are several SMC Mechas that have Midair capability but none are able to rival staying power and maximum height threshold that Hurricane possess. In open battlefield, Hurricane has a clear advantage as it is capable of raining down bombardments from higher altitude which will make short work of anything that stays too long in Hurricane's sight. Despite having some definitive advantage, Hurricane lacks maneuverability as its fast movement capability is linear and can be taken advantage in close quarter combat due to its glasscannon build.
The particular version of Hurricane that Sluban made is based on SS-Rank premium Skin called Sonic Rocket which give off Sunday Cartoon hero vibe. I happened to obtain from the banner rerun this year before Netease cut off SMC life support and Costed me around 80 Bucks. I wouldn't have minded too much if it have made SMC lived abit longer but with everything has been set in motion, can't cry over spilled milk. Because I was aiming to get one of the Ex version which probably won't make and and I will just show it in the future SMC Mechatalk instead.
Since I was late into SMC, I am not too sure but I think back then this version of Hurricane was marketed along with Ranger Safeguard Skin as both complements each other quite well and Sluban specifically make these 2 as the only SMC Mechas with Special Skin. Had Netease been more competent in managing their SMC Portfolio, we could have seen better rendition of Hurricane and Moshow could probably have nailed down the design with Diecast Frame.
While Sluban SMC Brick Model review concluded with Hurricane, SMC Product review will still continue a little bit more since I will certainly have some Qbrick to be featured.
