It can't be understated how Megaman Battle Network series played a significant part in my teenage years yet the sentiment is not properly conveyed in this blog despite already being around for quite some time. As such I will talk abit more about MMBN series with my gateway to the series Megaman Battle Network 3 which I had Blue version for my first copy. There is a famous saying; Third Time is the charm and MMBN3 perfectly fits the sentiment
Over decades of my gaming journey, I have played my share of Megaman series whether the classic Megaman, X, Legends or Z. But MMBN series still gets the biggest part of my attention and Megaman Battle Network 3 contribute a big role in it. Back then, I never expected my first MMBN game actually happen to be the best MMBN entry for the whole series.
It cannot be understated the enormous amount of contents that MMBN3 had to offer. I have played all 6 Megaman Battle Network Title and 3 remains the best one when it comes to content depth and breadth that rest of the sequel find hard time to live up to.
I will list in bullet points some of the contents that MMBN3 go for extra mile
- 200 Regular Chips with high amount of variety
- Gigachips which are even more powerful than Megachip
- most diverse Virus Enemies in MMBN series
- Coolest Program Advance varieties
- 3 New Styles with overall 7 Styles rotated over 4 elements available for Megaman
- Pokemon like Pet Virus which which can be trained by feeding with Bugfrag
- New Post Game area complete with secret super boss
I still remember vividly how special MMBN3 post-game content, the Dev team didn't have to go for extra miles but they give us really awesome Post Game area of secret Undernet which looks a blissful paradise but very deadly. The fond memory to clear obstacles just to fight Serenade is quite something. In fact, If I have to pick one MMBN game that I need to do 100% run, MMBN3 is my go to choice. Personally I still look for a free time to play this game from my MMBN collection someday.
