Sluban Super Mecha Champions Brick Model - Ranger Safeguard Review

Super Mecha Champions demise may have been set in place with Netease total neglect, but it doesn't mean that you can't stop enjoying this series and appreciate whatever things that this already had. This time I will present you the 6th of the 7 Sluban SMC Brick Model Review. This time I am proudly Ranger in its Safeguard Skin version, 1 out of the 2 Sluban SMC variants that were made in their alternate skin. If you have followed my blog, you will likely know that Ranger is my first Sluban Brick Model that I got for SMC and the rabbit hole goes down further from that point on.

Out of the 7 Sluban SMC Brick model that I obtained, Ranger was the cheapest one. But it comes with somewhat decent transformation gimmick that turns the unit into car just like the unit's gimmick in the game. Considering this one of the last few Reviews for this particular series, this one obviously got something more special included in the review.

In SMC, Ranger is a lightweight Mecha unit that specialised in agility, capable of traversing distance very fast with its ability to turn into car. Ultilizing its speed as its main assets, Ranger comes with 4 barrel auto cannon and gravity launcher as its armaments which are very good at harassment tactics. in team fight, Ranger works very well as scouting and flanking unit which could provide sufficient distractions against enemy teams while other team members are closing in for the kill.

During my PVP experience with SMC, a good Ranger player is a very difficult enemy to defeat as they regularly perform mid air evasive maneuvers which make them very difficult target and you will most likely get defeated if they ever destroy your mech as Ranger comes with good speed to chase after defeated pilots.

When Netease was not being deadbeat Dev, at some point SMC got Sakugan collab which had a rerun this year featuring Big Tony as SS Rank Skin for Ranger. The close similarities are quite pleasant even in the toy form which you can witness for their resemblance. Even if SMC is closing down, I never regret to spend money on Big Tony skin and wished Netease could have just outsource the management team to take care SMC if they never bother to care properly with their IP instead of having it die out without preserving any legacy at all.

    1. Got Neutron Star for this one IIRC, I recommend to get the Qbricks if you want the exact card for the mecha variants
